I think you're making a good point. HYIP is not really a healthy way to make money but the decision has been made to add HYIP's in the package with insider's information, not availaible for non-members. When referring to HYIP's, TE is warning about the risk, but the info can be valuable for those who choose to play the risky game.
The referral downline builder folder may look like it's full of HYIP's but in reality it is due to the fact that some of us have added HYIP programs to the referral builder while not too many other programs have thus far been added.
Manilahunter, feel free to add ANY of your programs in this folder.

Hi there manilahunter, HYIP-related information is only a small part of what TE has to offer and, as me222 has mentioned, you can use the downline builder section for any kind of programs if that is what you were referring to

I agree, we should share information about our investments. For example i would be interested to know about the amount invested by different users, in this way I can see if a program pays only small earnings or big earnings too.
If you are not satisfied with the returns your bank offers, I am afraid that taking calculated risks is the name of the game, it's simply the way things work.
As a TE member (since this is the TE folder, I'll be analyzing things from the perspective of a TE member), if you are interested in finding the risk vs. reward ratio which works best as far as you are concerned, feel free to take advantage of the information which comes with your membership and, of course, of the Ask an Expert section.
HYIP like but genuine services can be managed FX accounts.
They are of course risky as well but the chance that they scam you is virtually zero, if you pick a good service.
I'm hoping some of you above will add some variety to that section. The first thread I read in TE made me aware of 3 or 4 ways to make online income that I didn't know about. Nothing to do with HYIP. I am having computer trouble this week but I am looking forward to checking them out more.
