These days I'm trying to make a list of the programs where i would like to spend some bucks and i notice that many of the programs are displaying on the main page following message:

Securing your connection

Since I'm in development domain and i know how online security works i was watching for a HTTPS redirection or some certificates, but none of that was present . It seems that the system is just a psychological trick, not even a byte of your communication or of your connection is secure.

I cannot stop wondering myself if there is a company with such procedures then i cannot think to them as professionals since is obvious that they are amateurs, or probably worse.

I have also been a developer for a long time and I have noticed this on many sites,
Its impossible to secure any site without https (ie a secure certificate) it seems these people do not want to pay for a cert and use the trick, which then puts into question their financial standing, a secure certificate can be bought for as low as $20/year and dedicated IP for $2 to $5/ month(depending on provider) and many hosts will install cert for free or a low price($10 to $30). If they can't pay that much I don't think I can trust them with my money.

whats worse is that these people are tricking others into believing that the connection is secure. In my opinion just a plain http page where the person knows its not secure is better than this, Whenever I see something like this but no https only one solution remains ... run other way. LOL

I think that site is messed up.....

It only loaded 1 time for me and the SSL cert did not activate (I didnt see httpS in my addy bar)

That is not easy to afford and I am not expecting that everywhere.
