TG's blind Eye
Seen a few disgusting things in my time here at TG but this is one of the worst...
This post shows that TG staff knew full well that a repeat offender scammer had returned to scam again...
Post shows that TG staff knew who he is/was yet chose to say nothing till after people got scammed...(lucky someone stepped in so they got their money back)
Warning should have been posted on first page of the thread to warn TG members...
Thread should have been in scam section and the member banned...
But NO...TG sits back and turns a blind eye
Some may think there is more profit in taking the add revenue but I assure you there is more profit in doing the right things by your members..
How many others of the paid stickies are owned by past scammers all while TG turns a BLIND EYE??

Re: TG's blind Eye
Okosh it don't take rocket science to work out which scammer it was read the whole thread last few days.
A few days before that I was thanking the flip for updating the thread, But even I couldn't miss the clues posted after that

Re: TG's blind Eye
Okosh, first I want to say, when this all happened, I was out of the state for 6 days visiting family, and Geoff, the other main admin, was in the process of moving and could barely get online.
Second there was more then enough warning to new members if they read the last few posts in the thread. Talkgold is a discussion forum. People are supposed to read the threads to make sure an exchanger is trustworthy or not, which all should have done.
Third, we will NEVER leave an ad up just to continue being paid, despite what you may want to believe. The great thing about my new position is that the income generated is not directly benefiting myself any more so I can make an unbiased decision (like I always have, but at least people can't claim my decisions are biased).

So it's OK for a paid sticky to scam even though TG staff knew full well that the thread was started by a serial scammer??....Hmmmmm
This post below proves that TG staff knew all along, "right from the start" but rather sat back and watched and said NOTHING while TG members got scammed

So who's ignorant Mr Ratebygold?
I can assure you there was ill intent. The scammer had no choice but to finally yield as we had him over a barrel right from the start I cannot and tell you what we had on him. but please understand, he's no hero.

This has nothing to do with advertising $$....
This thread is about staff sitting on their hands, watching the innocent be Fleeced when they knew full well what was going on...
Didn't realize this happens here like this...
At asa or dtm or EMF you expect to see the punters being mugged in the parking lot on their way out but not here

Re: TG's blind Eye
Okosh, would it be different if it was just a normal thread?
I don't really see the difference between a paid sticky and a normal thread. They work exactly the same. Were there not posts and replies all within that thread warning people that it looks like a scam? Would that not have been sufficient enough to tell people to goto one of the other 10 exchangers online?
The purpose of the forum is for discussion, we like to stay as uninvolved as possible, since in the past the replies within a thread are what allow people to make their decisions. I see where you are coming from in a way, but would it have made a difference if we unstickied it.
Having said this, something like this probably would have been dealt with sooner had Geoff or myself been online like normal. For the mods defense in this, I instructed no one to move an exchange thread to the scam section until talking to me first, because of what happened in the past with some legit exchangers being moved over there, and then all hell braking lose. No admins were online to deal with any fallout should that occur again. As with everything though its a members responsibility to read the thread, and make up their own mind. Talkgold only provides a means of discussion.
Oh I see what you are saying now. Since Ticktack made that post about other username. Note that I was not aware of the possible connection. One of the apparent proxies (I assume its a proxy) the guy used to post with is the same as 17 other individuals who posted here. Maybe ticktack was making an assumption, or maybe he found more info, he will have to respond. Either way, Ticktack wrote this today, not when the admin registered. To me the info points to a possible, connection at best with other banned members. Maybe Andy can add more to this. Sorry this last 3 weeks has been a bit hectic for us all I think.

Just so as not to confuse anyone reading this thread, the part of that quote above quoted by Okosh was originally posted by Londongoldexchange not Ticktack

Nope!!...being a sticky just makes it worse cos the newer TG members are automatically attracted to those threads...

You missing the point....
This sends a clear message to ANY who is banned that they can return to scam again cos they know that the mods(weather they know or not) won't say anything till it's too late...
That's crazy to allow this
This sort of thing was never allowed in the old exchange folder yet it's allowed in the E-currency folder which is basically an exchange/cashout section...

Only 17??
Why does the e-currency folder not have the same rules as the debit card folder or the old member to member exchange folder??
A rule change would go a long way to stopping this from happening again...
Hope you'll think about some changes ![23 28 112[1]](images/smilies/23_28_112[1].gif)

Yes, and it refers to the moment we discovered the fraud, which was AFTER TalkGold members had already spent their gold/LR to the scammer. From the start of us discovering the fraud we had good evidence, but could not of prevented it from happening. I was not even aware of this exchanger and the TG thread until we challenged him. The funds we received were from an individual not direcly from an exchanger account, so we did not know initially.
I hope this clears up any confusion.

Re: TG's blind Eye
It just shows how little you know and what a true prick you are.
Jumping to your own conclusions as always, trying to make people scapegoats just so you can look like a hero.
Nobody knew who he was, it wasn't until somebody posted an email IP that I discovered who he was, his posting IP was clean.
I waited to post what I knew after he had cooperated with LGE, if I had said earlier he may then just have disappeared and nobody got their money back.
I'm under no obligation to explain myself to you and if you dare accuse me or anyone of knowing who he was and allowing him to scam poeple here I'll ban you quicker than you can blink and I will personally guarantee you won't be back.
