based on wordtracker, 122 people search for the word hyip every day in the US, seems kinda low.
Did we miss something?

I think the number is wrong. Wordtracker gives approximate results.

If you need to know the exact numbers create google asWords campaign with the only word 'hyip' and target to the US viewers. You'll see your ad shows number and that will be the number you are looking for.
