Blccgold/Blacklotus Is anyone happy with their services?
About 2 months ago, I had a VERY very small ddoss attack on my host of a few years which didn't have protection, so I decided to switch to BlackLotus. Since then I have had nothing but headaches. First big issue I had someone copy over my BlackLotus info for their website (they didn't really hack my stuff, basically just re-routed their BlackLotus account to point to mine somehow.)
Even before then however there were issues such as https:// not working right, people not being forwarded through correctly due to their "ddos protection" screwing up the nature of the "POST" system works, and another smaller issue with their email crapping out a few times.
Then came the day or so around the 11th of this month that their whole SYSTEM was offline for nearly a whole day. Now this was around my payment time for the month and I was very annoyed that I could not even log into their site to pay. I tried all night but their servers were still acting funny, so I sent an email to them stating as such. "Due to your server problems I am unable to login and pay, I will try again in the morning, until then please do not suspend my account, as I am going to pay, and have been trying to pay, however your site for payment is still down".
So I send them that message assuming that it would get through to them, so they knew my intentions...
Low and behold when I woke up in the morning, my website was down again, and being re-directed somehow to some Hyip site that wasn't functional. Yes, you RE-DIRECTED.
I immediatlely checked my mail to see what the heck was going on, apparently they didn't respond to my "don't shut me off, your payment system is down", and they did it anyway.... So after I quickly PAY now that the system is back off, I fire off several emails asking why the hell my site was being forwarded like that. I never got a response.
So after intending to give Black Lotus / BLCC gold their final shot as my host (Mind you before I came to BLCC gold, I paid no more then $40/month for hosting) everything seems to be going fine for around 11 days or so. Till I'm on my site browsing fine, and then the next second my site will not load.
I check BLCCGold/Blacklotus first to make sure its not an issue on their server. Its not, their other sites are up and running just peachy. So then I shoot an email to BLCC gold from the domain thats being hosted with them to get a response "We don't have an account with your email associated and cannot determine who you are" (this is after sending them many emails from the same account...) followed by another email after I replied to that explaining "who I was" that "Your getting a ddos attack that exceeds your level of protection, you can upgrade to the next level of protection to get your service back".
Now I have several friends that have used blacklotus in the past, and they warned me about this. Blacklotus will attempt to squeeze every penny out of whoever they have under them, claiming that they are under "Severe attack".
I respond to their asking me to upgrade with telling them that I am just going to cancel my service. That I would like proof of the DDOS attack etc (I am not stupid I know if your getting attacked there is logs), and the latest backup from my site (I have a backup about a day old, so getting their backup isn't an issue). I also let them I know that I knew about the little games that they played with making their users "Upgrade to the next level of protection."
The final email I have recieved from them stated that "They don't have any logs as the nature of DDOS doesn't leave logs, however they can ask their datacenter (BS), and they cannot make customers backups of their data...."
This is the final nail in the grave for me. I've had it. This service is just trying to squeeze money out of those they think that can make it and im fed up with them.
My site is a very low-weighted site. I have no one who would even ddos it, and if they did there is no where near the intensity that should knock of my website. And if there was they should have some sort of proof to back it up, rather then just asking for more money (which as I have stated several of my friends say that this has happend to them with blacklotus too)
My question is if anyone is HAPPY with this service. Because right now to me its feeling like BlackLotus doesn't know what the heck they are doing. DDOS protection is supposed to mitigate damage. For their overpriced package I was expecting some level of comfort which I guess just isn't there, and will be switching my services as soon as I can to a host that doesn't always try to price gouge their customers simply because they think that they can.

Oh, and just a follow up I forgot to include in the main post:
I am not the only one having problems. I have several friends and clients that have tried to use BlackLotus, some with Hyips and autosurfs, others just with normal websites. They keep price gouging the Hyip/Autosurf admins claiming that the need to upgrade to the next level of service (I had one friend who ran a new startup service, started out with their $189 package, ended up paying around $4000 to them a month before he finally said to hell with it and with with a new host, which of is featured here on talkgold and he's had NO problems with at all since going to them)
Then one of my other friends who ran a secure goldcoders script on their site, mysteriously kept getting hacked and their DATABASE deleted... (mind you all this was determined to be done SERVER SIDE).
These are the type of things that happen with blacklotus, which I've not had a personal problem with until they decided to try to "price gouge", my tiny little site that does less then 2 gigs of traffic a month. They say they cannot even provide "proof" that my site is indeed even under any attack. They say the cannot provide backups of data for any of their users.
Anyone else have these type of issues with them?

I never heard someone paid $4000 a mont for hosting. Maybe prolexic protection.
If you knew this from your friends then why did you host your site with blacklotus.

We just gave you a free temporary L3 upgrade to bring your site back online shortly after learning of the situation at hand. This is generally far more than you could expect with any other hosts.
The other problems, we handled them all and went out of our way to do so. I'm not sure why you're attempting to damage our reputation with this.
I can assure the public at large for every one person you find who reports such problems there are at least a dozen or more who sit quietly without any problems whatsoever and most of them would never even visit a site like TalkGold.
If you do your research you'll find that we are infact the oldest and most experienced DDoS protection host in existence today.
I should point out a few items for the general reader:
- There is no such thing as a "secure" Goldcoders script from my experience, these things are always getting hacked no matter who you are or where you're at.
- Our suspension system is automated, there is no human who looks at your site and decides to suspend it.
- There are at least two web hosts who advertise the sale of DDoS protection who are infact causing the DDoS. This makes it pretty easy to attract the business and make it look like they stopped the attack. This is the last i'll say on this particular subject to avoid accusations of libel.
- If you need a $4000 protection package then you need a $4000 protection package. The attack you receive dictates the package. This is universal across all providers (unless they're the one's attacking you then they can just make up their price). We do not control the attack levels and certainly do not wish for anyone to have to upgrade. We actually make less on a $4000 package (mostly expense) than we do on a $339 package (mostly profit).

Sorry, I do not mean to damage your reputation Skyree, and thanks for the Upgrade in service. It just really grinds my gears when things happen and they cant be proved, I don't know about competing systems for service space, but I do know that my site went basically from operating fine to being down a whole day due to a ddos attack that I coudln't even see "logs" from when I was told multiple times there are logs.
I don't mean to damage your reputation. My friends whom have used your service and had issues that is their problem. The post was simply to get a consensus if this was stand alone problems, or if it was wide spread with users of your service.
By no means has anything happened other then the suspicious need to upgrade to the next level that we were to incur, but I read from my friends that they had similar issues all the time no matter how small or big their site was, (and my site is still currently in the developing stages, it hasn't really gained huge notariety as compared to one say LGE or some other long time exchanger.
If you take this post above to mean that I was degrading their service I have not meant it that way. I simply meant to get a consensus on to all whom this has happened to.

I realize this does not make sense, but i'm actually better off if you wait for excess attacks to pass than I am if you actually upgrade. We fully realize that having to upgrade is a burden on your company and eventually works against us.
In a perfect world we would like to sell our $189.00 and $339.00 packages without anyone needing to upgrade. Less risk, less upset customers, and less overhead having to manage the protection.

Yes I understand the difficulties in the industry. Again, for those of you just reading, we did not mean this in an attempt to damage Blacklotus. We would just like a central thread where it can be known what all issues everyone is having if any. Skyree has been nothing but professional with me in his dealings and I have nothing against him or blacklotus
