DOMAINS - Available and then Unavailable!! Whats going on

Hi,
I had a few domains i wanted to register, so i went to godaddy and checked for availability.. They were available. So i thought id come back in afew days with my creditcard to register...
A few days later i went to register the domains, to my shock they were unavailable... How can this happen i asked?... I checked whois records and found they were registered months and years ago and have been registered for a period of 10 years,,, WTF!!! Im sure there is something going on... Cos i checked the availability of them domains with several registers and they were 100% available afew days ago.

Could someone clarify this matter, im sure there is some dodgyness going on?

It could be a well-known trick by Godaddy. Try to wait 5-7 days, it's possible that the domain name will be available again.

Yes i read more about it,, its called domain tasting / frot running, done by godaddy and network solutions,,, what a waste of time, they say its to protect customers,,, haha yea right,, how? network solutions wants you to buy domains from them for $35.99 if this happens... what a scam.

Anyone recommend any good reputable domain registrars who aint gona run away after awhile leaving you domain hanging?
