Ideas for Talkgold

I'm really thinking about starting some type of contest for talkgold, to get some new members more active in the discussion here.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how we could do this to create more discussion, or how we could improve talkgold in other ways?

Well, my opinion is to pay 0.0001$ - 0.001$ for each post here. You can make a minimum payout of 1$. This is how you can attract people to post here.

My opinion

Not a good idea to give people money for each post, as people will only try to make a lot of posts and it will be mostly useless posts.
The idea that came up now, is very good: giving $5 for the best poster. Quite good Brian!

This is a good idea too...

Actually I am also considering making a special script which will allow a points system. Members would earn points for each referral to this forum, and I would also distribute points members who make posts that I feel help the community or are informative. In addition to this I could also have some sort of contest where points are awarded. Then each point would be worth maybe 1 cent, and members can cash out whenever they get 50 points.

Does this sound like a good idea or a bad one?

Sounds like a nice idea, but I dont know if it will work. As i see some people at TG, i think some will try to create multiple accounts and get the money for themselves, purely. I think you need a more cheaterproof system.
Its also just a decision: what do you want: quality or quantity. I would say go for quality, and then more actions like a 'best post' etc are better.

Stop trying to prolong its lifespan, let it die. In the short term, you make less money - yes. But in the long term, one less place for scammers to find easy marks.

No, I see some serious posts on TG too and when you are really serious you can filter out the bad posts etc and learn here something! At least.
Its just the lack of interest in really studying people's posts.

Did you lose all your money in HYIPs, or do you just have a jealousy problem? Why would brian shut down Talkgold? People can make their own decisions on what programs are scams.

If he shuts down TG, don't you reallize that someone else will just create another forum that would be the most popular HYIP forum. Shutting it down will only make things worse.

No, I didn't lost all my money in HYIP. But I have seen suicides by people who did, and lives destroyed because of HYIP. Perhaps it might also disturb you, those things, and some of the ways money is made in HYIP?

They all are scams, you know that, I know that, the admin here knows that, but he makes lots of money off it, so perhaps to him the consequences are unimportant - so long as the money keeps coming. Perhaps not. I don't know him so I won't assume.

Probably he is an intelligent man, one who might do something to make the world better instead of this. This board seems to be dying anyway. I don't see how letting it die would make anything worse. Possibly it would make things better. One less. Maybe more people will open boards, maybe not, hopefully HYIP will become passé. Notice I did not say to shut it down, but since it is losing popularity anyway, don't prop it up anymore, don't try to draw more people in, just let it keep fading away, fewer people to come here, which is what seems to be now happening. Why would that be bad?

No need to attack because you don't agree with me, or to make pointless assumptions.
