SSL is not end to end encryption.

I totally agree. The OTR however, provides end to end encryption for each message that is sent between two clients. Even if it is captured via a man in the middle attack, all he gets is the garbled encrypted text.

hhmm thanks for the warm regards. I just assumed it was not possible, but I have checked and it is indeed possible to do that. Nifty. Now that I think about it, I don't know why I thought it was not possible.

Hey, neat tutorial. But you missed a few things. You should also configure your Pidgin to run over ToR and configure AIM to run through SSL. (MSN uses SSL by default)

I find that I cant run say two yahoo profiles at the same time. One gets disabled if I try.

Thats how AIM used to be,then aol started allowing multiple logins (Which is stupid) -- It does notify you if there is more than 1 logged in when signing on.. (Or its supposed to)
