Thanks dark. My last two seasons have been reasonably profitable, and documented at the Rx, using the same trends as I am applying this year. I don't normally get started this late in the season but I never start before early-mid December, my feeling being that a team's last season is irrelevant to its current season -- so I give them a couple of months to see how everyone is playing before I put any money out.

Actually, looking at long-term trends I'm starting to wonder if there is not a serious flaw manifesting itself in my capping system. I have had four consecutive profitable years using it, but the profit has actually diminished each year, and the original source data goes as far back as 1998 ... and last season was a heartbreaker, running up over 25 units then crashing down to +6 in like two weeks toward shte end of the season. Now this year I'm struggling to break even after just a couple of weeks posting, which has not previously happened at all. I am wondering if the original data fueling the particular betting system is not flawed, or more precisely is simply no longer valid due to the changes which have run through the league in the intervening years.

Serious stuff to think about, and honestly after tonight I have and continue to give serious thought to just closing the books on this season entirely and reworking the system I use. I follow a few successful cappers and make decent money at sports gambling, but I don't do it for fun -- I do it for money. So when the system I am using for my own picks is costing me money (a good bit of it at that) I logically must step back and question the wisdom of continuing to use that system just for the possible vanity of having a publicly-posted "comeback."

Alright guys, I'm shutting it down for a while. This has been pointless for some time now and is starting to get expensive. I guess I can still legitimately say "4 out of 5 seasons are in profit" but it's obvious that I need to spend some time back at school, so to speak.
