I will never be in profit with betting because I always bet ALL money I have had at the moment on my account :ghostface . All in all I have lost more than 20,000$ (20K) for 2 years on sports betting.

i cant lost 20.000$ becouse i do not have that much money .
Baseball is where big money is to be made. Top that with sound money management and you can make some good coin. I followed a capper last year and just for baseball I made 4x my bankroll(1k bankroll to start and 4213.00 to end it). Not bad for free picks and all.

If done with good dicipline and good strategy you can make serious money from sports betting. I have been doing very well since 2005. Sports Betting is my only source of income and I make enough to consider it serious money.
If you dont know how to cap games, Be careful when you pay for picks because many of them are scammers. You can find good sites on the approved sites where they dont cheat records. They all are monitored. My favourite 2 are jarheadtips and bettingresource. Both made hefty profit for last week.
You can also find lot of good info for free in many good forums.

Don't want to say same things all over again - but key to making constant profit in sports betting is to treat it as an investment.
You have to exclude feelings or to bet just because game is on tv.
If you use a good money management like betting 1% of your bankroll on expert picks and use max of 3% on really strong picks (or insider infos like somebody injured or lack of motivation of one team).
This way you can go 0/5 in 3 days and still end up in profit by the end of the month.
But to achieve this you also need strong discipline and not to bet every day 10 picks just because you must bet something.

At one stage about 2 years ago I was making enough for me to be able to give up work, Now I work part time but still pull in some very good revenue with my racing, I have been racing for nearly 12 years now. The one thing I have learned in this time, the one certainty is that nothing can be certain. Happy Betting Guys!

you certainly can.
but first u must have the funds to do it for long term and must be discipline.
you can subscribe to those paid tips, follow it and at the end of the season, you will surely be in profit.
but you are not discipline and beside betting based on those paid tips, you decide to place additional bet(s), then whether you make profit or not will solely depend on your own bets.
bet only with ur extra cash, do not bet more than you can afford else you will be in deep **** sooner than u think.

to seriously make money, you need three important things. knowledge as well as enough money to start you off, and not forgetting discipline too!

For those who are making serious money out of betting, would you advise me, who cannot come up with my own system, to buy a good system and stick to it? I know everyone keeps telling me that 99.9% of the systems out there do not work, but surely there is still a 0.1% chance that a good honest person is selling a real system.
The big key is identifying the right system/person to stick with. Most of the pick-sellers/touts are indeed scams. Several forumers here have suggested places to start, such as theoffshoreedge and bettingadvice.
I recommend to start there; if there's a forum to talk amongst yourselves there's less chance of someone to lie outright, plus the picks are free.
But that's just one step, the next step is DISCIPLINE. Any system, no matter how good, will experience some kind of downturn/negative variance. You'll then have to dig deep into your soul and summon the courage to stick with it. Trust me, it's not going to be a smooth ride to the top.
DISCLAIMER: I do NOT follow the picks of the sites mentioned above; I am merely repeating what others have written in this forum.

Thanks for your advice, GDB!
I lost some money before due to lack of discipline. I freaked out when there was a bad day and stopped following the rules. No wonder I keep losing money. Right now, I am trying to get into the right mindset that I should treat betting as a business that will have its bad days or weeks. Hope I will get there eventually.
It takes a while to build confidence with a particular tout; will take at least one year/season.
Take a look at Dr. Bob, one of the most famous touts out there.
I tracked his basketball progress; at one point, he was down over 30+ units. If you bet 1% of your bankroll for every unit, you'll be down over 30%, quite a significant amount.
Last I checked today, he is about breakeven/showing small profit.
That's why you need to stick to it, through thick and thin....

I've been operating "almost" full-time trading on UK horse racing for about 6 years now, so yes it is possible, but like one of the other posters said...
You need to know what you're doing and have the self-control to operate professionally.
If you want to do it full-time then forget tipsters and learn your own market yourself. Whether it's football, horse racing, cricket, tennis, or whatever, you'll need to put the work into understanding how the betting markets work and then how to take advantage of other people's mistakes.
You'll effectively be a bookmaker, no more, no less.

Discipline is maybe more important than your selections. If you bet level stakes randomly then in the long run you should expect to lose whatever the bookmakers vig or exchanges commission is. If you can find even a small edge then you will @ least break even.
Chasing losses is the worst possible scenario. You have got to keep a level head, stick to your guns, and maintain some sort of staking plan.
Systems are never a good idea, if there is a profitable system it will be exploited and made unprofitable very fast. There are plenty of gamblers out there with all kinds of databases that may look for things like this.

I've always wanted to get into sports betting but I've never really been that knowledgeable about sports... Every once in a while I search for a good capper but never find one that I want to follow.

Yes, me too. I earn abt 300$ a week by playing poker :)
I prefer poker too because even if I know something about football(soccer) I can`t win because i don`t know what discipline is. Even though I won big sometimes, I allways bet on my feelings all the money(that I afford to lose) on one bet:) and then i quit betting for a few weeks/months. With poker I do fine..

If you are consistent and have good self control , yes you can make sport / race betting into real profit . but first you are going to need the following
- resource in what you are goin to bet ( just googled it )
- the right betting system for you ( you could get it for free if you search on net, but if u have $ then you could purchase it )
- a good amount of capital , and decide profit % daily/weekly
- a good tipster ( there are some good free tipster , but if u hv $$ then u may want a pro tipster )
- self control , dont ever think about "just 1 last game , etc etc" .. when its time to stop.. then STOP.. no matter if ur losing/winning .. set a margin for yourself
i'm currently making 500-1000 bucks monthly on horse / soccer bet .

I make 0.5% of my betting capital per dayon average from Betfair. Does not seem much, but it is reliable and I it takes me only 5 mins per day.
But since I have only 1000 dollars on Betfair I can't live from that - yet ;-)
