I like that pick - I have made a simple observation over the last several weeks which comes from watching NBA/College & NFL/College games over the last few years (versus the spread). No rocket science, but it comes with some simple premises:

1) The book ALWAYS -has- to win (long-term). (If not, there are no Vegas Sportsbooks)
2) The lines have to be designed such that the majority of money (not the majority players per se) bet the wrong side.
3) When you see highly ranked teams, or teams that are clearly better than their opponent either -getting- points or laying what you would consider 'too few' points, something is up:

Examples:

The Last 7-10 days:

#2 Kansas (-3) vs. Texas Tech - Texas Tech wins outright.
#3 Kentucky (-4) vs South Carolina - South Carolina wins outright by 12.
#12 Utah (-1) vs New Mexico - New Mexico wins by 11.
#17 Pittsburgh (+5 1/2) vs Villanova - Villanova wins by 8.

Same thing tonight - #16 Alabama (-1) vs LSU. Take LSU. Just doesn't make sense.

Ranked #16 Alabama team only laying 1 and they beat LSU by 15 earlier this year? I don't think so. #12 Ranked Utah beat New Mexico by 11 at home in their first meeting, they lost by 11 yesterday to the same team.

Interest in your picks - Possibly, but I can't deal with hearing results 'after' the games - If you are willing to post your selections before, or even 5 minutes into the games so we can watch them for a period of 1-2 weeks, if you are really doing 64%, I would be interested.

Thanks. I am sure it won't last :-) - Actually, I did not include one loser from last week - I think Villanova played ranked UConn, and were only getting 2 points (I thought that was low). Interestingly, Villanova did take them to 2 Overtimes, but then lost by 4.

#7 Duke plays Georgia Tech tonight. Duke beat GT 18 out of the last 19 times. They beat GT by 17 points earlier this year. The line? Duke -1. 1 point? I don't think so.

In the last 10 days, for the picks I have watched, this 'observation' has gone 5-1. I am sure this GT will be a loser tonight :-), but hey, let's watch until later in the year and see what happens. (Don't really take GT <smile>).

I was thinking Villanova might fit into your criteria tonight as well. They're favored by -5.5 over a higher ranking Boston College team. If I understand your strategy correctly, Villanova should cover. Won't bet on it, but let's see what happens.

Georgia to cover +9.5 with Mississippi State
don't be surprised if Ga. even wins
Michigan -9 over Penn State
NBA Phoenix Suns and LA Clippers over 216

The extra Duke will beat Ga. Tech at least 8 pts the line is a pick.

You are probably right - Though Villanova is ranked #23 in the country, I would probably agree with you - Laying 5 to the #5 team in the country, who is 22-1. This one doesn't seem as 'clear' as the Duke game, though.

Duke is #7 in the country, played a -much- tougher schedule than Boston College, and Georgia Tech is unranked, while Duke has lost once to Georgia Tech in 10 years. On the other hand, Villanova holds the series lead with Boston College 54-27 - The Villanova one seems shady...??

On the other hand, DBowling is probably right, as I mentioned, and Duke will probably woop GT (though the system would say GT! <smile>).

Btw, Duke/Georgia Tech game is down to 'PICK' at Betonsports.com..... Interesting.. money coming in on GT..?

So GT did not work out - Rather that line was set that way because it was supposed to be a close game (tied at the half, and GT down by 3 in the last few mins) - Ahh well.

Villanova DID cover though - Now, including both of yesterday's game - The 'system' is 6-2 over the last 10 days.

Hey, 6-2 is respectable. Duke/GT game could have went either way, and Villanova barely covered. Sometimes the best you can hope for is that you have a chance to win.

I am loving it! I did not look at the last 2 days until now, but including yesterday that is 7-3 (70%) :-) I wonder how long that can keep going - Most people who 'say' they are 70% can't keep it for more than a streak, but you are performing, that is a different thing.

I am impressed - Do you do your own handicapping or do you have access to some information for plays?

Also, what types of payment methods can you accept? Paypal or Neteller okay?
