Unlucky with Scarvagh Diamond and Nobodys Perfect but still managed to get profit. I took 10.0 odd on ladia bahia, however it reduced to 7.0 at the end.(All are betfair win and place prices just 1 minute before the starting of race)

In the first posting you were talking about WIN selections, however, now you include place bets.

Do you suggest win or win/place bets for your selections?

And is this not based on the 7 steps, or on 7 steps plus additional criteria?

Hi DTM. Profit is also made from win selections. You simply see 7 step thread also but if you are prepared for a losing run of 5 or 6 then just go for win selections and you will still make handsome profit. Yesterday Holiday Ccktail was at 13.0 in win market and 4.1 in place market. For me, 4.1 odd is very good by any means. So I prefer betting each way now. I have read the place manual by mohammed ali but the place odds are terribly so low as low as 1.15 that it wont pay. But the selections that I give here usually have handsome place odds and strike rate is also very good.

For example take the case of yesterday. Only 1 horse won at 3.6 odd. Suppose I started with $1000 betting bank then I would have done like this:-

1:10 Final Tune-Up ($1000-$30)=$970
1:40 Kabis Amigos- Won ($970+(9.7*2.6+19.4*0.52))=$1005
1:50 Heisse- Up ($1005-$30.15)=$974.85
2:50 Holiday ccktail- 2nd ($974-$9.74+($19.48*3.1))=$1024
3;00 Fluff N Puff- 3rd ($1024-$10.24+($20.48*2.7))=$1069
4:15 Teorban- Up ($1069-$32.07)= $1036
5:05 Glimmer of Light- 2nd ($1036-$10.36+(20.72*2.3))=$1073

So Profit= $1073-$1000= $73 for the day by betting each way and only 1 selection won and suppose if 1 or 2 high odds selection would have won then profit will be even bigger. Above is a strategy of betting 1% on win market and 2% on place market and adjusting the stake after win or loss and if place odd is below 1.5 then stake all 3% on win market alone. If you are skeptical then stake 0.5% on win market and 0.5% on place market and you still make good profit at the end of month.

I use 7 step, ratings and also 2 or 3 more methods to arrive for these selections. And now I strongly hope that this will continue to produce profit in the future.
