Are you looking for a way to make quick cash? Do you feel your gaming skills are exceptional? Would you like to put your money where your mouth is, and reap the rewards from beating lesser players? Well (suprise, suprise) now you can! CyberTourney is a unique, new, gaming serivce that acts as a temporary bank and intermediary between players. Players pay a flat tournament entry fee, compete in games against other players, and if they win, they win both their entry fee back, and their oponent's entry fee! Best of all you're paid immediately after the gaming day ends! For more information, visit CyberTourney (http://cybertourney.gamertime.net/) now!

I'm the admin of the site, and I run it with a friend. We are working hard to make this a pleasurable experience.
Let us know what you think, the first tournament may start tomorrow based on response from you guys.

These are really cool, and really fun.
:)
Also depends on how much the "prize" is.
I've been to a tournament held in illinois, by capcom, which was a "video game" tournament, and I won 2nd prize, winning most of the "street fighter" competitions.
I lost by one lucky "special move", lol.
:)
Just hope this is legit, and not a scam.

This is completely legit. My friend and I realize that we need to build up everyone's trust in us first. It's not just a one time competition either, we're looking at multiple competitions a day, seven days a week. My friend and I are going to personally monitor every game to make sure everything is played fair, and almost all the money that goes into the tournament also goes back out to it's members. We only take a 5% fee on each pot.
Why do we take so much (5%)?
Because we aren't using games we made. We have NO way to make the systems automated. Everytime someone makes a deposit for an entry fee, we have to personally do the "bookie" work. (Write down your balances, do the math, etc.) We use some software to help us with the repetative tasks, but we still have to personally oversee everything that's going on.
So basically nothing bad will ever happen to your money, unless there are unforseen problems with e-gold. Every day we payout what we owe the members.
This is an example of how a game would run. Lets say four people want to play in a tournament. Each of them pay the $5.00 entry fee, which means the pot is $20! My friend and I take 5% of the pot, which is $1.00, and then the players battle it out. There are two teams. Whichever team wins splits the pot. So if "team 1" wins, they get $9.50 each.
As you see, we are not offering any "magical money coming from no where". No ponzi schemes or anything. We are simply charging everyone an entry fee, and whichever team wins splits the pot.
If you ask me, playing a bunch of $5 games where you have chances to make a profit is a lot of fun. :)
So if this interests you at all, please sign up on our forums to let us know we are getting some interest from people.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask,

Main questions are, where are the games going to be played? How are the games going to played? And what games are available?

As of right now, we are playing a game called Continuum. It's highly addictive, free, and works as a great tournament game.
Eventually we're willing to be the "middle man" for any games you guys want.
Continuum is going to be played like this. Those who are participating will alert one of the two admins. We'll make sure all the e-gold deposits add up and whatnot (aka the "bookie" work), and then everyone will join the server if they haven't already. I'm running the server by the way, so we can stay uninterrupted. The tournament may go on for 5-10 minutes and the team with the highest score at the end gets the other teams entry fees, in a sense.
If you want to learn more you can either visit our forums or just ask more questions here. :) But you may find that our forums have quite a lot of information on them already.
I've seen countless people throw money into e-gold casinos, silly coin flipping games, and all sorts of games where you are playing against the house. Now you players have a chance to only play against each other. There is no house with the odds in its favor. It's just a good clean match where you can win money.
Hopefully we'll get enough people interested to host a tournament tomorrow. ;)

Well, sounds great.
Try to advertise other places as well.
I am not asking for any kind of compensation, but, if you pm me, I will either give you advice on advertising, or, actually help you advertise this thing. Which ever you prefer. :)
Because it sounds really cool! :)
I love video games, and would love a video game tourny.
And the more in it, the better.
Plus, your website, needs....a little "extra" eye candy.
:)

Yes, hah, it does need a little extra eye candy. I'll be working on that tonight, and will continue to work on it until it catches an eye.
I'd love it if you would help advertise. We need all the players we can get. More players means more chances to have a tournament.
Not to push it, but sign up on our message boards so you are considered a "member". :)
PM me with any other advertising ideas you have please. Thanks!
One more thing to add. We will also be running the server sometimes when tournaments are not going. This is so people can play and practice on it. The Continuum game has many options, variables, and settings. So if you guys aren't having much fun, let us know what would make it more fun, and we'll change the settings on the server to reflect that. :)

Sounds good!
I'll pm you and sign up at your forum as soon as I can.
I have to take care of some business for the next few days, so, I'll be "mia" for a while.

Awesome! I really want to build up a trust with the members, and give them a fair way at making money. I'm sick of seeing people throw their money away into randomizers, casinos, and other silly gambles you have no control over. I guess if those people get a kick out of them then I can't really say much, but I want CyberTourney to provide an alternative way to make money for once. Even if members aren't good at video games, CyberTourney still has a place for them. Already, in the Continuum game we play, there are many other ways to score points for your team besides blowing the enemy ships into crumbs. ;) The teamplay feature we have here is going to be amazing. There will be no "ultimate player" that is going to win everything. It's going to take teamwork, and everyone will have a chance at winning.
Hopefully everyone will see this as a great new idea and we can all have some fun. :)
(Well there have been many video game tournaments in the past, but CyberTourney differs because we are going to have many tournaments every day. Not just one big one.)

You know, it just hit me. Is this even the right place to advertise my site? Or is there a section at TalkGold that might be more interested?
