Any views on this story that just came out about NHL assistant coach Rick Tocchet running a gambling operation.
Anyone know if he was pooling money from his group, then placing bets with an online sportsbook, or was he acting as a bookie himself?
This brings up the question again as to what's legal and what's not. There are obviously other implications because we have NHLers involved and there could have been inside info, but what about a group of people getting together, pooling funds and placing bets? If you're in the US, does it depend what state you're in, or are there federal laws involved? What about the UK and Canada?
