Just to let you know, I called to get my pick for today and asked about their forum. They said they'll have it up within the next day or so. There's a link to it on their site.

Also, I'm at 20w-7L as of today. If anyone's curious what the picks were, email me unsk2@yahoo.com I'll try to post tonights game when it starts.

In my opinion is more safe invest my money in a pool of bettors, like Appaloosa-Fund.com, than doing this. I invested at Appaloosa-Fund.com and I'm not disappointed. They are doing a very nice work too.

ikickcrybabiesasses
07-07-2004, 06:52 AM
cashbuilder, that depends. If you are good at money management, and have a good sport picks 'provider', you can get out even better then with Appaloosa-Fund.com

I will eventually subscribe because they seem to be doing pretty damn good.

Well, to be honest, I'm not sure if you can say it's 'safer'. No matter how you look at it, your money is in THEIR hands. I'm not saying anything negative. I'm just saying that I feel safe with dnd because I'm the one in charge of handling my money. So there's no possible way for them to run off with it like so many do (even when they seem to do a pretty damn good job-actually, that's usually when they run). Please pardon my skeptisism. I've been around.

unsk2, you did not understood my post. I was mentioning that DNDSports is a much better choice then Appaloosa Fund ;)

The only problem is that there are not too many investors who are willing to pay a membership fee...would anybody be interested to pool money in a betting account and follow their picks?

i so much agree with u..its like $499 a month for the option 2...and since im a student who is going to university next yr..that is quite steep lol...but i might be interested in the pooling money if we have enough money...btw when did dndsports open?

msdonovan
07-08-2004, 06:02 PM
James.dott: I'm sorry about that. Obviously I did misread it.

Jin_freaks: It says on their site that they've been around for a while offering their option 3 service but I know they started their website maybe a month ago.

I mentioned to them that there are alot of people wanting to pool funds together (I've gotten countless emails regarding that). They said that they're 'considering some possible options'. Of course I wanted to know what that meant for me and other members who are paying the full price. They said if they do anything of the sort, they'll make things right with current members that they got online. I believe that they will. They really are good guys. I guess we'll see.

All:

Why all the talk about DNDSports.Com? On TalkGold, are there other sports advisory services being discussed/considered? Just curious -- Is DND above and beyond the rest?

I used to do heavy sports betting with betting syndicates a few years ago -- Took an account from $4k to $165k in 4.5 months during college basketball season and lost most of it during march madness. I used a few services then, intermixed -- Any other ideas besides DND which has shown regular results?

I personally like to diversify as much as possible, that is why I want to try DNDSports service. I haven't looked too much around to search for other sports betting picks providers, but if these guys popped out around here, I will give them a try.

I used to do heavy sports betting with betting syndicates a few years ago -- Took an account from $4k to $165k in 4.5 months during college basketball season and lost most of it during march madness.
I know people who had similar results (...without the lossing it all part), but they are keeping it too hush hush. Care you give me / us more details?

If the cheapest package ($149) from DNDSports brings positive results, maybe I will start to pool money for this.

I started with Scott Spreitzer's Private Level Service (not the TV/Internet stuff he sells) -- and one associate there -- John, was awesome in getting me up big quick following his money management. I then joined Feist's private service, and one other company which I can't remember now -- Now, I will say, I went back to them later, and was not able to generate the same return -- The only thing I will say is this:

HYIP, Bank Debenture 'Programs', Stock Market, Futures Trading, Options -- I have NEVER made as much money as I did in Sports Betting, disciplined and with money management and WITH a betting syndicate service (NOT on my own). It has been the most profitable venture I ever had.

You're exactly right. I don't think I could have said it any better myself.

My bankroll's up 56% from from 8 days ago (that's just the past 8 days, not to mention the whole month+ that I've been using these guys-dnd) just by strictly following the money management system they provide me. I've had good streaks on my own but I couldn't be this consistant overall.

Jin_Freaks:

Well, what happened is I used the 'money management' system the counselor I was working with told me to -- Essentially that meant playing big on games he felt were stronger, and lightening up on games that were 'OK'. That worked great for a while and he built me up wonderfully -- Unfortunately, in my goal to get to $250k and break out of the business, I enrolled with other services as well -- They also performed well for me, but by that time I was playing between $4k-$10k a game. Eventually, in March, almost all the services I was with (during March Madness) got torn up, and a lost a number of games (something crazy like 7 out of 10) -- Playing large at that point ($10k/game) and not reducing my plays with each loss made me lose a large chunk (not all) of it within a short period of time.

If I played money management, reducing my plays with each loss, I think I may have been okay -- Since then I got out of the business, and want to find someone who is 'consistent' -- No one wins every time, but DND says they could go through losses of 10 in a row -- That is a lot for any service! I am sure they are saying that just to err on the side of caution.

I use option 2 so I get their MM system. The amount you start with doesn't really matter. I mean, you'll probably want have a bankroll of a few hundred. They way it works is you only play a certain % of your bankroll. They tell you what %. The better the chances of winning, the higher the %, and vise versa. So really, you are betting less when you lose a game and more when you're winning. It really seems to be working well.

Hey netwerker. Welcome to the world of sports betting. Yea, you'll get the picks via email. If you use option 2, they'll probably work something out with you to give you the picks over the phone. You shouldn't have any problems being in Europe. Most sportsbooks give you like a 10-20% bonus (of your initial deposit) when you sign up.

Well, after a very nice and long winning streak, they now had several bad days (starting Friday till yesterday). I think it is turning around now anyway, and we are all hoping to end this week with a big bang :D

I think you should look for a new handicapper. You did win one of two games yesterday. But the second small % pick was Arizona to beat the Astros. Arizona is the worst team in the league by far. And of course Arizona lost badly. I don't understand that kind of pick.

msdonovan
07-29-2004, 12:42 AM
BigDawg: I'm not sure what would make you tell someone to go somewhere else. Because you didn't like one of their picks? It sounds like maybe you started with them at the same time they lost a few games. Would I be correct in assuming this? Maybe you're just a little discourged.

I've been using them for about 2 months and I'm over 60% winning % (63%). This is even right after they had a little losing streak. Before they lost these last few games, I was around 70%. My bankroll is still over double what it was when I started (again, right after they had a little losing streak). I can't see what's so bad about that.

Regarding the Arizona pick: Underdogs win about half of the time. I've won most of the underdog picks I've gotten. The last was on the 21st, Baltimore to beat the Red Sox (+200). Their underdog picks are always small bets anyways.

Please don't take this as a personal attack on you. I'm just trying to understand. Thanks

1-1 yesterday. The Cardinals were supposed to score more than 2 runs. Fortuneately I came out with a profit yesterday because I wagered more on the second game to make up for the loss on the first plus a profit.

Today's pick. Braves over Diamondbacks. (moneyline) This is pretty much a sure win.

I was 10 min late to play your first pick yesterday :) .
BD, What do you mean with "moneyline"?

BackwardsMan
08-08-2004, 06:36 PM
The moneyline is a wager that doesn't use point spreads. For example the Braves moneyline wager above, all the Braves have to do is win straight up, not win by a certain amount of runs. You have to wager more when a team is favored. But your odds of winning are much greater. For example Braves -260 on the moneyline means you have to wager $260 to win $100.

If I would have wagered the moneyline on the Cardinals yesterday I would have won.

The Diamondbacks are +220 on the moneyline, so every $100 you wager on the Diamondbacks today if they win, you win $220. But they are not going to win.

GrumpyOldFart

I saw DND's pick today and instantly said "no way". It was a bad pick. One thing you can do is start betting the opposite of their picks.

Oh come on now. Don't be ridiculous. How many games were a 'no way' and still won? Quite a few. It's easy to point out the ones that don't. You can't win EVERY game. I see what they mean when they told me, when they win, everyone loves them. When they lose, some people think they're the worst. What are you gonna do? Some people just look at it that way. Hey, at least they're not giving picks that require you to risk $780 just to win $300. That would just be insane.

I'm not trying to be a d*#k here. I'm just saying, everyone wants the good but nobody can take the bad, and that's fine. If you don't like their picks, that's fine too. Just don't use them and leave it at that. Some people can see the big picture, some can't. I actually see what they mean when they say to treat this as a business, not as gambling. It's like investing the market, precious metals, etc. You don't just 'wright off' gold because it drops in value for a little while. Do you? You know it goes back up.

I've dealt with these guys for a while. They're great guys. I've seen my bankroll triple in two weeks and they REALLY go out of their way for us. I just feel obligated to say something. That's all. :D

Oh come on now. Don't be ridiculous.
He wasn't ridiculous at all. He was stating his opinion about a pick. As you can see, BigDawg also has some experience here, and his picks are quite good...and free

Opposed to what you think, most of us do see the big picture, the long term plan in what we are doing, but we try to maximize our profits by sticking with who is more hot at the moment...

When DNDSports.com will be back in the winning streak, I guarantee we'll be there to follow it, meanwhile, we are taking a small brake from their picks. We do not say DNDSports.com is a bad handicapper, they are just having a bad period.

Good luck betting guys,

I'm well aware that's his opinion. Just as this is mine. Everyone has theirs. There’s no right or wrong here. If everyone’s opinions and beliefs were right, then who’s wrong?

Never did I even make a mention about Bigdawg's picks or doubt his expertise. It's very clear he has experience. That's beside my point.

I have my own experience as well. I’ve been self-employed since I was 21 yrs old. That was 8 years ago. You may be in the same boat. If so, that’s great too. But I’ve gotten this far for a reason. I like to believe that I know when something's good and I'm simply trusting my judgment (I’m not saying anyone else has a reason to). I truly think these guys will exceed my expectations. Some of my most profitable ventures, at one point or another, put me to the point of thinking that I should get out. I trusted my judgment and the rest is history.

When I say don't be ridiculous, I simply mean that there are people that could really use a profitable venture (especially if they're looking here in this ridiculous 'hyip' business). You obviously realize that streaks happen. Some people don't. Saying something like that ('bet the opposite...'), might scare some of these people when they could have profited by making their own judgment. That's all I'm saying. I know what it's like to have to do (work) something I don't like and trying to find a way out. Fortunately I did. I'm just looking out for those that are trying to find their way out too. It's easy to be scared off when you don't know. DND's a great company. They're more than just another 'capper'. Having good picks is only a small part of making money in sportsbetting.

You and I both realize there are ups and downs. We just have different opinions about them. All I care about is that these people (the ones I mentioned above) see that and don't run from an investment because it has a down period. They may take what people say about them being in a down period as though it's always been that way and will continue to.

For us veterans of 'working for ourselves', I believe it's our responsibility (at least on forums like these) to help others not so knowledgable to understand things and try not give them the wrong idea about things, which is easy to do.

To unsk, if I would have followed all of DND's picks since I joined and bet their % I would have lost a bunch. I am not attacking them. I hope they get it turned around. I have only been with them for like 3 weeks so I just happened to join in a bad time. They will probably be ok long term.

ok, SO DND sports is in a downtime of bad luck. A week ago, I was just about ready to sign up for the option 2, but seeing the streak of bad luck, I decided to wait.

I decided to look around at other handicappers to see what I could find. I found one that has a good overall win percentage credentials and so on, so I decided to go along and try their daily pick for the first time today (monday). They gave me 2 NFL picks and 2 MLB picks. I didn't get my bets in on time for the MLB picks, but I did managed to get the NFL picks in.

Needless to say, I am glad that I did miss the MLB picks because they both were losers, but on top of that, so were the NFL picks. So this guy who has a good win percentage just happens to go 0-4 on the first day that i decided to go with him.

Question is, do I try again the next day and see if it was just a fluke, or go to someone else because of the bad start?

At this point, I am still deciding. This handicapper tells you to bet only 3% of your bankroll, so you are not really losing a whole lot. but if I would have done all 4, it adds up.

Any opinions on this? Anyone else with a handicapper that is doing well that wants to tell me who they are.

Bad picks from me today, I'm sorry. Baseball has a way of being unpredictable at times. I think I will take a break and sit on my profits and observe some of the games some more before I wager again. Baseball is the hardest sport to predict. So to have a profit on baseball is good. Look at DND, they are getting hammered in baseball. I expect to do real well during Football(American) season. I'm sure DND will also.

Aceriker, feel free to post your football(soccer) picks anytime. Although I did not see Mens Olympic soccer being offered at my sportsbook. I saw a lot of other types of soccer leagues to wager on though.

I'm a Man U fan at heart, but I bet on Arse-nal in the charity cup, but then I bet on Man U on Wednesday.

I think the match will be too close to call, probably Chelsea will edge it since Man U have so many players out or injured :(

So a draw or Chelsea, I can't see Man U performing their best for at least a month until they get some of their main players back.

gold-dott, I had a good day lastnight also, but was too scared to post my picks here after the day before. ;)

I had the Yankees, Indians, and Expos, all moneyline wagers. My sportsbook site is down now, so I don't know what to pick for tomorrow.

Just wondering, what is your strategy on each bet as far as money wagered? I try to build my winnings in $100 increments for each wager. Sometimes I'll try to win $200 on a single game, like the Yankees last night.

For example I lost $200 2 nights ago, and won $400 last night.

I try to wager the same amount on each bet until I make 50% profit, then change the amount wagered. Only problem is that I can't really follow my own rules. Last night I got very greedy, and won $1.000 with those 2 combos.

I look forward to seing your picks here again ;)

gold dott... This is my first week of doing any type of sports wagering, so I did a search on it, and decided to try acesportsnetwork.com with their daily picks. They have multiple packages you can chose from. On monday, i did a daily pick for MLB games for $25. They went 0-4. Not a very good start, but they turned around and gave me tues and wednesdays picks for free because of the bad mon. Not to bad overall.

My problem with doing one of the weekly or monthly packages with them is I can't be around the computer everyday at the same time approx to get the picks and get them to the sportsbook before gametime as sometimes the picks don't get emailed to me til after 6:00pm EST.

So I am taking the easy way out and doing one of the Ace's Managed Accounts. This way I don't have to be by the computer all the time.

He usually plays anywhere between 4-7 plays a day. And picks are rated by units.
His strategy for how much to wage is by units. 1 unit equals 3% of your bankroll.

If you have any more questions about them, please let me know or check out his website i mentioned above.

I'm looking for a sportsbook that's been in business a while, deals straight up, is 'licensed' (I'm not familiar if there's a governing board, etc), somewhere that deals with US citizens, etc. Basically, looking for something 'legitimate'. What I'd LIKE to see is somewhere that I could maybe put in say, $200, and then make $5.00 bets.

I joined DND's pool opportunity since early this month. They had an awful streak but it looks better now. I'm still about 20% lower than when I started though. All together, the members who joined earlier than myself made a nice profit. I would recommend DND, nevertheless. Preservation of capital is their foremost concern (money management). They had bad streaks preceding this one. They had guys who started with 20K$ bankrolls. They've seen it go down to 6K$ and up to 80K$.

It depends, ginvest, that's the money management part. For exemple, yesterday's pick was only 8% because of the higher risk, sometimes you have to wager 25%.

My opinion, they've been reliable for me. I use their option 2. I have to say I have a lot of respect for them because they really go out of their way and do more than they have to for their people (at least for myself and a few others I know). Anyone else feel the same?

It depends, ginvest, that's the money management part. For exemple, yesterday's pick was only 8% because of the higher risk, sometimes you have to wager 25%.

On the Ravens & Falcons game they were betting a large amount (they told us what % they were betting) but suggested that we only bet about half that (which is cool because it shows they don't want to put us at too much of a risk). I felt good about the game so I bet the same as them. That sure was a good chunk that I won on that game. :D :D

Hey Gold-Dott,

Just got back from vacation so I haven't posted for a while.

I got my managed account started on the 13th right before i left for the beach so I wouldn't miss out on the week i was gone.

Ace started out not so great early in the week, but came back strong until last night. I started with a 20K bankroll with them and am currently around 22K after 10 days.

He likes to earn around 20% monthly net profit for people and so far he's 10% in 10 days so not so bad so far.

He's picking around 5-7 picks a night between MLB and NFL preseason. Usually 1 unit on each pick. For my acct, 1 unit = 4x the line, so if the line is -110 then my unit is $440 or if the line is +120, then my bet is $400.

I've lost no more then $800 in a night so far and have won as much as $1200, so like everything else, he has its ups and downs.

I look at it this way, if he gets me 20% a month, that's 4K profit. I can handle that monthly. Better then any HYIP or should i say stable hyip.

Hey everyone,

I was thinking that if everyone continues to talk about dndsports or just sports wagering in general, what would people think if i got a folder done up in talkgold just for this.

That way we can have general topics within the folder instead of jamming everything into 1 topic discussion.

I would set it up if everyone likes the idea.

Let me know...

Either PM me or let me know here.

Played your pick as well BigDawg, so I got two wins on the BOS Red Sox v CHI White Sox game :)

thumpinbass, regarding your managed account: I consider 20% profit per month a great investment, IF it is constant, but if you can afford it, consider putting 1k - 2k in a betting account, and play with us as well  ;)

Good luck betting y'all!

Gold-Dott: I agree with you, if he can achieve 20% profit each month, I would be happy. And I do have about $1100 in a sportsbook to do some on my own when I have the time.

Big Dawg: As you may feel 20% is not that great. I respect your opinion. I don't have the time to wager on sports everyday or the expertise to do it on my own so I have the opportunity to have someone else manage the acct for me and place the wagers for me so I can have a constant income.

I ran some numbers real quick to see what type of % you would need to achieve 20% a month. Here is what I got.

If the ML is -110 and you play $110 on each bet 100 times, (this assumes that the moneyline is always -110)
62% correct would be approx 20% profit
65% correct would be approx 26% profit
70% correct would be approx 37% profit

So the slightest increase in % correct, can really increase your % in profit. If I can or have found someone who can maintain between 62 - 65% correct, I will be happy.

As they say, with a little luck everyone can win 50% of the time, but the 'juice' will kill you on the 50% losers.

You seem to either have good guesses or know what you are doing. Whatever it is, keep it going Big Dawg, you seem to be doing good at what you are doing.

--------------------------
So what does everyone think of having a folder to discuss sports wagering?

You said you use 2 services, I know one is DNDsports which seems to be doing alot better then before, but what is the other??

I thought about investing in the $149 plan of theirs, but haven't decided yet. Don't wanna put out to much for another service since I don't have the time to do it all the time.

Exactly, sports betting allows you to be in total control of your funds. No worries of a scamming HYIP admin running off with your money. Also Sports Betting is very exciting and fun. :D

cashflow
08-26-2004, 11:43 AM
Everybody in the HYIP arena should understand right now (or after FLO closes) that in order to start making big money again, we have to concrentrate on the most promising HYIPs without exagerating (again, FLO is no longer promising, so we will take that off the list :P ) and also on things like sports betting and Forex trading (everybody talks about it but these two are rarely even tested).

Getting back to the sports betting folder, this will be a good thing for TG as forum as well, maybe even increase traffic on a long term view.

thumpinass, your last post reminds me of a FedEx commercial a few years ago.

There was a board meeting of a company and these guys were sitting around a table brainstorming. One of the younger guys says something like: "We need to switch to Fedex for our international shipping to increase profitability." Everyone at the table ignored him, and silence ensues for about 5 seconds. Then the leader of the group repeats the exact same statement the younger guy just said, and does a hand gesture, and everyone praises the leader for coming up with this great idea. The first guys then says, "You just repeated the exact same thing I said."

The leader tells him, "You didn't do this." (he does the hand gesture again).

Anyway it was very funny if you saw it. B)

A brilliant night for myself and hopefully for others.

I went 2-0 for myself making myself $900

and my managed account went 3.5 - 1 (he only played half the amount on the NFL game) making $700 to my acct.

Would have been a perfect night, but the heavily favorite indians lost.
Oh well.

so all together 5.5 - 1 for the night and $1600 in my pocket.

I wish all nights were like this, unfortunely there not.

How did everyone else fair out? I see BD came out strong for the night.
