Does anyone have any experience with, or knowledge of, the Credicorp Bank in Panama? I am considering opening an account with them but would like to know a little more about them first.

If you are so highly interested on opening an bank account there, why you donīt ask them directly?
You should know that in order to become a panamanian bank account opened successfully they will see you in person at their branch in Panama City, no mail openings, they would be refused.
Panamanian banks wouldnīt accept cash when opening an account, only transfers, so donīt come with that idea to deposit a large cash amount there, they would refuse it also.
Kind regards
I have talked to Credicorp directly and am aware that I have to open the account in person and that they don't accept cash deposits. What I'm trying to find out is what is their reputation as a bank and would I be wise to invest my money with them. Has anyone had dealings with them, either good or bad?
Credicorp is an excellent bank, it has a mortgage division and a securities division. Big, healthy. I have used them for diferent people who live outside Panama. http://www.emporis.com/en/il/im/?id=115088
You can call the bank and ask them how long it takes and what they require. I talked to Credicorp and, with all the proper documents presented in person, it only takes one day to set up the account. Other banks may vary somewhat. What I'd like to know is what experiences, good or bad, people have had with them. Also, I could not get the person I spoke with to tell me what interest rate they pay on a one year euro term deposit. Does anyone know?
1. google it to see what it comes
2. have an attorney there to check for you
3. find regulator Inst there to see what they say
4. Talk to the Bank itself!
