I think these coupons are given by hosting companies when you host your site with them.

Yep, that's right. Well, not only a company can advertise in google, i can advertise my own webpage there too, and one i bought their advertisment thing, i will receive a coupon for next time or m friends. Well, anyway, sorry i don't have it. By the way, what's the discount if you have one of those? Like around ~5%?

I don't know. I heard you can actually get free funds (like $20) in your AdWords account.

BUT, the $50 coupon only counts when signing up for a new account. But when you sign up for a new account, they automatically charge $5. so you're left with $45 which you can't use. to start advertising, they need you to put in some extra money, it's just an advertising stunt...Anyway, good luck

I had a yahoo hosting and signed up adwords from yahoo hosting they gave me $50 credit.

True, I got hosting from godaddy and they gave me $25 credit for adwords.
