Guaranteed Hyips - Revolutioning the Arena - Feedback please

Well, after a lot of work with a couple other individuals in the Industry we have come up with what we feel will change the HYIP arena for the better.

We will then track the program for the investors, and if the program pays to the date given, the Admin will get back 90% of his Guaranteed Escrow funds. If the program is not paying by the date given then the funds are not returned to the Admin and we will Break it up as follows:

o 50% goes towards our costs as well as paying employees

o 50% will go to Talkgold.coms Contest Fund. Talkgold has agreed to actually give away half of all the money we get from programs which do not honor their guarantee. Talkgold will have large contests in which all its members will be entitled to these large cash rewards.

Before they launch the site and start taking guarantees we'd like to hear comments, suggestions and critisism from admins and investors.

Criticism: the "guarantee" doesn't have any real teeth.

If an admin lists and spends $200, as per your example, and then makes an "agreement" to pay out to investors to a certain date, then they simple incur a slightly higher cost to be listed on a supposedly more trustworthy HYIP list.

Meanwhile, as deposits soar way past the one time payment they make to the proposed escrow, they can still close up shop and disappear with deposits.

Or, if the HYIP honestly fails, the "guarantee" is good for the list admins/employees and a lucky few individuals who happen to win a Talkgold contest. All other investors are still simply out of luck.

All in all, this set up will essentially change nothing about the nature of the HYIP world. It will only create a false layer of comfort for those who do not scrutinize the "guarantee" closely enough, which will in the end result in even more people yelling and screaming about "scams" when they jump in head first and get burned.

That said, I wouldn't be against investing into programs listed on such a ratings site. But to my mind, they carry no additional level of safety above and beyond any sites that would not be listed; when it comes down to it, they're not going to be any different than any other site, and neither will this list (except that it's basically an ultra-high paid "referral" program for its owners). I won't change my behavior (i.e. risk and money management) one bit if I invest in any programs listed there.

Six of one, half-dozen of the other - know what I mean?

Nah I totally agree, there is never a guarantee and most these programs are gonna end at one point. I just think that if an admin to to risk a large amount of money, it is more likely they would be willing to atleast have their program pay until that cutoff date.

We'll see soon how affective it is. We feel that atleast it gives people an extra layer of protection and some extra information to use to decide if its a good investment.

Perhaps, but I think the "any amount [the HYIP admin] chooses" for the escrow account is extremely problematic. The vast majority will spend only the minimum, and there isn't any requirement that they maintain increasing escrow balances as the amount they receive on deposit from investors rises.

The initial bar to entry for the HYIP admin would need to be much higher for it to be effective, and if not that, then at least some percentage that must be maintained of active deposits, such that the escrow balance would rise as those deposits do. Otherwise, I think the "flight risk" remains unchanged.

I tend to agree with Cat4rt. The flight risk will still be very high or unchanged. $200 is nothing at all when you can make thousands easily from suckers. And it would give a false sense of security to investors. An Admin will say "Look we are honest, we gave $200 to TG's escrow account, and this will lure many suckers in which will bring in thousands of dollars and will allow the Admin to make up the $200 easily.

$200 is not a lot of money.

Plus, you could get a lot of angry people mad at you TG. People will join believing you guaranteed this program was legit because they joined your guaranteed Hyip site. But then if the program scams and disappers, angry people will come and accuse you of lying to them saying stuff like "You guaranteed this program was legit" You lied to us, etc, etc.

I'm sorry to say, but to me this is not that much different from any other HYIP monitor.

It is nice however that you'll give away money earned.

Excellent point, Dogman. I hadn't thought of that.

Dogman's right, TG - this potentially just puts a bullseye on your butt when people get angry after the inevitable happens.

Just wanted to clear up a few points.

-$200 is the minimum guarantee. I would think that any long term paying program would guarantee their program for much mroe then that.

-Talkgold is not taking the guarantee deposit, the two people managing Guaranteedhyips are. Talkgold is mostly benefiting from the 50% share for its cash give aways in return for advertising.

- the site guaranteedhyips clearly explains how the system works, and nowhere does it say any of the programs are guaranteed by the site. If people can't understand how it works after it is clearly explained on the main page then thats their issue anyway.

Exactly the problem: $200 isn't a lot, and anything more than that is on a voluntary basis (it also appears that the programs listed there didn't feel a need to put up massive amounts over and above the minimum either). Also, looking over the couple of programs already listed, it shows one that there's no requirement that applicants be new, pre-launch programs. Someone intent on running with deposits could simply solicit $200 worth, get on to this list, then run with the cash anyway once even more people are lured in by the implied "guarantee."

Also understood, but what I think Dogman is saying, and what I'm saying, is that Talkgold's involvement will create a guilt by association scenario, even if it is a false assumption on the part of burned and angry investors. It won't take long for people to assume that some sort of collusion is going on between Talkgold, the people operating the list itself, and the programs that fold up and run off with deposits. After all, only half of the money Talkgold would stand to receive from this arrangement will be channeled into contests...

I think what would really help the HYIP world is to just be up front with newcomers about what it is. This is part of the new wild west in cyberspace. People who want safety and security should not be here. People who want freedom and who accept the risks and rewards that come with it should be.
