Is there an end in site?

The number of US military deaths in Iraq has reached 3,000 since the 2003 US-led invasion, an authoritative website tracking war deaths says.

The milestone comes as President George W Bush weighs options, including more troops, for the deteriorating situation in Iraq, where daily violence plagues Baghdad and much of the country and has killed tens of thousands of Iraqis.

The website, www.icasualties.org, listed the death of Dustin Donica, 22, on December 28 as previously unreported, and said 3,000 US military personnel have now died.

A US military spokesman in Iraq could not immediately confirm that Donica's death had not previously been reported.

No soldiers were reported killed by small arms fire on December 28 but the death of an unidentified soldier in a bomb attack north of the capital was announced.

although the number of Iraqis is very huge too , I cannot see any improvements in Iraq

Although a tragedy, you should still realise, that this number is VERY low, considering the war has been going on for over 3 years now, and that a lot of troops have been in and out of Iraq.

Either way, death is still a tragedy.

The Iraqis want us out of there themselves but their government is not listening to them. It is a complete civil war.

What have the Americans done.. 3000 deaths. That is pretty low in comparison to other conflicts, but also the fact that Iraq is now in a civil war. I wonder what George Bush is going to do next.. use his trump card= nuclear bomb?

If it's really a civil war, then a lot more soldiers would be dead. It's the insurgents who are responsible for the 3000 deaths - not the U.S.

The terrorists were responsible for 3000+ deaths on 9/11.

A real civil war is the fight between Donald Trump and Rosie.

That makes no sense at all. a Nuclear bomb would make things a thousand times worse for the whole reason. Get real.

No Surprise. The so called liberation of the Iraqi people has just caused increasad fatalities, the US led occupation has lead to more Iraqi deaths than those during the reign of terror under the late dictator Saddam Hussein.
