I picked up on the similarity but didn't say anything. I've used the search facility but I can't find the post I made about it any more.

Ahh well... time to put on some Percy Grainger and start coding. Trying to get my head around this Cocoa/Java/Objective-C stuff.....

IP addresses are just one factor when trying to link people together. They serve as a somewhat decent starting point, but by themselves can prove nothing. Usually, matching text/speech patterns is more appropriate. IP address matches allow you to trim down the database of users when trying to match text and speech.

ip address usually DO work, but not in the case of patryn.

i guess your right, they dont prove anything. In the case of a member database, you got two ips that use the same/similar password, your pretty much set.
