Re: MUST READ: List of SCAMMERS and potential FRAUDS
Time to change or add some new rules maybe!
Too may scammers here!
I hope admins and moderators will think about it.
But now with this additional rule the scammers will run away.
It's not my idea. (from another forum)
Quote:
All post which do not conform to the following rules will be deleted.
PM mod for permission to make your first offer to exchange.
1. Must be a member for 90 days and made 50 relevent post in the forum. Relevancy will be in the soul judgement of the Moderators.
2. If you are using a tunneler, you will not be permitted to post here.
IP's will be checked.
3. No hidden offers though PMs. All exchange offers must begin on the forum. Members making offers though PMs should be reported and will be banned.
4. Private information should not be posted on the open forum. Real names, email addresses, etc.
The Exchange
1. Make speedy exchange. (Within 2/3 days)
2. If, there is a problem post problem and how you plan to resolve the problem.
3. Post all replies in your thread.
4. Post details when exchange is complete.
talkgold forum is NOT responsible, if you lose money.
We are constantly seeking ways to keep the scammers out of this folder. So, if any members have worthwhile suggestions, or recommendations which they feel will help then this is the place to post them in.
If an adjustment in the Rules will benefit our honest members we will listen. If you have an idea then put as much information in your post as possible.
talkgold124, I`ve moved your post over from another thread. As merges are done in chronological order your post is shown at the beginning of this new thread.
Hi admin!
May be my "idea" is not too smart or too fresh... I thought TG can setup additional "rank" , let's say "verified exchanger" and to set additional qualification requirements for it (having 50 posts is apparently not sufficient to be able to use Exchange Folder).
May be the new qualifications should include some basic ID verification - not complicated one like PayPal's of course, but may be potential exchangers can submit some basic info - and be required to stick to it - I mean like 1 email address, 1 egold account per person, no multiple accounts to cover tracks.
Of course all the others would be still allowed to post or exchange, but these "verified exchangers" would just be/appear more trustworthy. Smth like having 'id verified' icon next to one's eBay username, you see?
...eh, did it make any sense? Sorry if I babbled too much

Yeah but with the security we have anybody will get verified in 1 click dont think we are in eBay here .... eBay`s security just that worths about 20 million dollars when we get that to invest in security i guarantee that we scammers will be 60% less than now
Anyway i got some time to read talkgold124's rulles and they look good to work with now is the Administrators decision
1. Another approach might be enhancing iTraders' Ratings system.
If I understand right, now you are able to give somebody a rating based on PM transaction. (Please correct me if I got this wrong - I was checking one member's ratings and when clicking on rating was told that transaction reference thread is private and cannot be viewed).
If this is the case, why not just disable this - let folks do their deals via PM, but Rattings must reserved for "public" deals only.
2. May be more proof should be provided that transaction is completed. Random request of a screenshot or batch # proof - do you think it can prevent fake ratings when 2 scammers "make a deal" and grant each other fake praise feedback?
3. A bit off-topic, but still related. Can you add 'report bad post' button link for PMs? I personally am sick and tired of receiving PMs from fellows with 25-26 posts asking for exchange. They do not yet qualify to use Exchange Folder, so may be it is best to make this folder not accessible for them?
That's all for now. Hope you won't consider my earnest efforts to be a spam post
P.S. I especially like "soul judgement of moderators" in OP.

The trader rating system only hurts exchangers like me who do their trade off the TG forum.
People I attract to my website with paid advertising and word-of-mouth will google my name and find this forum. When they see this rating and that I have made no trades (zero), they become skeptical.
In truth, I am one of the longest surviving digital currency traders in the world and among the largest in Canada and the only trader in this country with a real bricks and morter store specialising in this field.
The introduction of this trader rating system has only hurt me. It did not exist when I first made my thread here. If it had, I probably would not have posted here that first time.
So, I suggest that the trader rating system either be scrapped or efforts made to make it clear to the casual reader that these numbers only represent trades made within the TG forum and are not indicative of reality when concerning professional exchangers.

At the moment you can still deal with it quickly by forwarding the spam PM to an admin or mod to look at.
I have a solution that will help and get rid of a lot of the scammers. They hang out in TG because: it costs them nothing to post. I do a lot of trades in MMG and I have a lot of confidence in MMG. In the exchange folder, only PAID members are allowed into the exchange folder. This is not fool proof but 99% of the scammers left MMG and they went elsewhere. Probably TG.
