HYIP's suck.
Post your thoughts.
Everything I've seen on this site recently is a Ponzi. And I really don't like having to scroll past advertisements to get to something that *might* be useful. All of the advertised programs are Ponzi's, everything discussed in the forums is a Ponzi, and everything on gold-hosting.com is a Ponzi too.
Does no one realize that a real investment program will have a business plan that is both VERIFIABLE and REALISTIC?
1-2% per day in "Forex and NASDAQ trading" is not realistic. Some of the best traders in the world are able to achieve 0.5% per day MAYBE. Robert Prechter, possibly the best (Elliott Wave) trader in the world achieved a 444% return in 4 months. That's AFTER COMPOUNDING.
If you're pissed about the number of scams on the Internet these days, there's an easy solution: DON'T BE A MORON. As soon as you quit dumping money into scams, they'll stop advertising here. Even better than that, they'll cease to exist. There's no sense in setting up an e-gold account and a website if nobody's going to throw money at you.
You know why scams succeed? Because most of us are idiots. Why did Patryn make off with so much of your money? BECAUSE YOU FREAKING MORONS INVESTED MONEY WITH AN ADMITTED IDENTITY THIEF, CREDIT CARD SCAMMER, AND MONEY LAUNDERER.
Add your thoughts.

Re: HYIP's suck.
I agree with your thoughts. I have not made any profit. I might as well spend on horse racing it is more fun. At the present time the 4x-club seems to be the only honest one.

Re: HYIP's suck.
ampster
I see you count yourself as an idiot but not as a FREAKING MORON. Interesting....... Care to tell us the difference?
Anyway, I'll leave my thoughts:
Yes, we realise that hyip's are not REAL investment programs. We know that most are ponzi's. We know that you certainly will lose with some. BUT, if you're smart enough (i.e. not an idiot or a FREAKING MORON), you CAN make some money from them. You have to realise it's a game at best, and play according to the rules. If you put your life's savings in these programs and expect to retire a millionaire in a couple of years, THEN you are an idiot, or possibly even a FREAKING MORON.
I've been in this market for about 4 months now, EIGHT programs failed on me so far, but I've still managed to double my money over this period. 100% profit over 4 months is not bad in my books, but if you aim for 100% in a week (as some programs promise), then you are a FREAKING MORON (or is that an idiot?) and will undoubtedly lose your money.
And no, we are not pissed with all the scams on the Web. With experience you learn to simply ignore the obvious scams, make money with the ponzi's, and even invest in a more realistic program or two (like 4x-club and feederfund).
(With "we" I mean those of us who don't consider ourselves idiots or FREAKING MORONS).

Re: HYIP's suck.
Not worth to go into depth. We all know we discuss ponzies.
A few are not actually, or we are pretty certain they are not.
like 4x-club and fx shrine.
But who cares, ponzi or not, it's about making a buck.
Business plan? I guess Enron had one and I bet more people
lost more money with Enron alone (never mind all the other
big league money holes) than all the ponzis put together
over the last 5 years.
If they, the ponzis will cease to exist, this board will close
down and all the fun is gone.
What's your ultimate goal? Close down all the ponzies so
people will not lose their money?
Try to close down all the casinos, lotteries, pornsites and the
likes. These "businesses", most all with a plan, have for sure
ruined a lot more lives than our ponzi games.
I am not defending the ponzi operators but I also admit I am
here because I decided to be here.

Oscar,
Exactly. It's everyone's own choice.
AOF,
If you have not made any profits and horse racing is more fun, why are you still here after 3 years??

Re: HYIP's suck.
First, I appreciate that you left my caps intact in your response. That means a lot to me.

Well... I'll admit - I used to be both of these things. Came here seeking unlimited wealth without any reason to expect it (i.e. work.) I've gotten over that fantasy.

You just admitted to committing a serious crime in most countries. Ponzi schemes are illegal. The end. Running them is very illegal, and knowingly participating in them is nearly as bad. Hope you posted using a string of proxies from a public place (or at least your neighbor's wi-fi).
Aside from their legality, consider this: You're taking from other people who had the same goal and mindset as you. You haven't created or sold anything. You haven't contributed a single man-hour of your time or an inkling of your thought to the whole of humanity. You put in your money, and then you took your money plus that of other investors. I'd go as far as to say that you stole it. If your only goal is to take other people's money, at least use an MLM as your vehicle.

I've been in this market on and off for about 4 years now, and I've made plenty. And in that time, I've learned that any "investment" that you can't verify probably never existed.
Jake, you brought up an excellent point - the administrator of a Ponzi isn't the only person that makes money off of it. And I won't try to "convert" you or any of that nonsense - I'm not a member of any organized religion - but I'll definitely question the idea of profiting in Ponzi's.
Besides, if you just want to take other people's money, go play poker. It's not hard, you get to smoke and drink, and with a little bit of practice, you'll make more there than you ever could in the HYIP business.

I'd question both of those. Forex trading is risky, results can't possibly be guaranteed. And 4x-club smacks of Nova-Lights.

Yep, Enron had a business plan. And I'm not saying that having a business plan alone is a guarantee of success. What I meant in that statement is that if the operator of the program has no intention of using your money to make more money, you shouldn't be interested. Enron at least tried - they used the initial money raised from commonstock sales to run an energy business.

So you admit also participating in these "highly illegal activities" and stealing other people's money?? And now you're converted and want to preach to us?
Oh come off it. Anybody in here knows the risk (or should, otherwise they are FREAKING MORONS). If you win at the roulette table, do you feel bad about the other guy losing? Off course not, next time it's your turn......So, please get off your high horse.
(And yeah, I'm really scared I'll land in jail for participating in hyip's. The FBI is gonna bust everyone's ass that invested more than $1 into a hyip!!)
