Website hacked...Help!!!
I am developing a new site and it was hacked today. Actually, I have not uploaded some site content yet espacially the products (which is scripts) but I noticed that I cannot log-in to admin panel.
All settings has been changed and paypal and stormpay emails to accept payments was changed to neo@cyberia.ca
The site is http://www.site-world.com
Please help me to find out how this happens and how can I avoid it. I don't know about backdoors and don't really know how it was hacked. All categories has been deleted..
I suspected that the hacker accessed my cpanel because some html has been changed also.(

Re: Website hacked...Help!!!
Here is how it happens. You are on a server with many other customers correct? Someone has loaded hacking tools from one account on the server which gives him access to all other accounts on the same server. You need to email support and tell them what happened so they can look for suspicious logs on the server. Your best best would be to move to a small hosting company with a low amount of users, or you would need deticated hosting for ultimate protection. Have server support reset your cpanel login and ftp password.

Re: Website hacked...Help!!!
I use this host... http://totalchoicehosting.com
I came to this host after some nightmares with other hostings... downtimes... spam... bad support... high server loads... etc..
TCH have a real 99.8% uptime, good support, good secutiry in servers (not ssh for everyone)... etc
You can get help and great support about your current problem in http://webhostingtalk.com

That's why I have chosen Katz Global as my hosting provider for e-helps.biz.
I haven't any problem with my site.

Oh no, yakuza! Whats going on? I've read your last problems with your hosting provider about downtimes etc. And now your account on a new server was hacked? Very sadly. I hope you can fix your problems soon.

Re: Website hacked...Help!!!
As ratebygold stated, hackers can create accounts with the same hosting company, upload their scripts and start accessing other accounts at will. It's up to the hosting company to either a) scrutinize every customer or b) monitor every script uploaded 24/7.
As with windows being most affected by viruses because it is the most common, cpanel is most affected by hackers.

Scan your computer for Trojan keyloggers & frequently change your ftp passowrd.
Are you using PHPBB forum ? if yes then you must update phpbb to latest verion because it can be one of the reason for hacking.!!!
Hope it helps .
