hosting provied with ddos protection

I would like to know whether hostgator,godaddy etc provide ddos protection like lunarpages does?
I do not want to have the kind of ddos protection like (i think) talkgold has...its really costly.
So if someone cud help tell me if there are hosting services giving this kind of services.
And the kind of ddos protection lunarpages gives...is it gud enuff?-for a small business?

Wasnt sure where to post...since I was asking about hosting(non-security topic) and ddos(security topic)...therefore posted in general program talk.

Don't use Black Lotus. I had a small HYIP and they couldn't even stop a 15 year old script kiddie. You can't get good protection for less than 1k for month. Don't believe BlackLotus' bullshit. I don't even think they have real DDOS protection since my site was hit by a script kiddie on BL and he took it down. It was hit by the same hacker elsewhere, a NON DDOS web host and they migrated the attack no problem

A question : Are you currently hosting at Lunarpages and want to switch Hosts ?
I do offer several Top Hosts (see link below) and I suggest that you make a detailed description of the must have items and submit it to the Hosts support over a ticket, or even better over Live Chat (faster) or at the forum.

If you are not a Lunarpages client you can go with themes, they are a great company, as well Hostgator, one of my favored. I am at Hostmonster and satisfied, but I really dont know if they have DDOS protect.

Oh, if you sign up a Host over my page, I give you a 3 month refund and some cool e-Books.

Hope you find what you are looking for. Hosting is like marriage, important but never perfect.

I was not aware that the age of an attacker dictated whether or not someone is able to take your site offline.

The base price for "good" protection is $189.00 (Level 2). The $39.00 you paid for Level 1 is not going to stop EVERY attack. This assumes you were actually a customer at all rather than a competitor who is attempting to libel us.

So it means that I will have to buy DDOS protection from somewhere else and that the protection that hosts give us is not completely reliable?
And please give more details bwh1.
I am not yet with lunarpages and neither hostgator.Still thinking where to host and also a reliable ddos protector which is affordable

Neither Lunarpages or Hostgator offer DDoS protection, very few companies do as protection is a somewhat 'special' and rather expensive type of service.

I do not know about hostgator but lunarpages claims that they have ddos protection-

Any DDoS protection that Lunarpages has is very, very minimal. Solid DDoS protection generally costs hundreds of dollars. If you can find it for less, it most likely is not very strong at all.
