Applications For Banned Members To Be Unbanned

To celebrate the 5 year anniversary of TG, we have decided to allow some members back in who have been banned in the past.

Any ex-member who believes that they a) were banned unfairly, or b) that they are now prepared to follow forum rules and play a part in the future of this forum may write to this e-mail address TalkgoldBan@gmail.com with their old username, approximate date they were banned, and if possible a link to one of their old posts.

Also, please say why you want to come back into talkgold? And, what will you do differently to prevent from being banned again?

Each application will be considered by Admins and Mods as quickly as possible. All applicants will be notified by email as soon as a decision has been reached.

There is a time limit on this offer which will run for the next 6 weeks, until February 29, 2008.

The problem is that, banned users think/believe that they are banned unfairly and mods/admin believe that user is banned with acceptable reasons.

But it's a good move from mods/admins.
Any way, mods and admins, have you been banned ever ?
What do you feel when ban a guilty user ?

I believe it is good, as most people deserve another chance. And as some of the posters of this thread know, mistakes and misunderstandings do happen...

In regards to how we feel, it varies case by case. If you asking about a particular one, then I can tell you. First it felt very good, than a little guilty and upset, but over all I think it was a good experience for a couple of people. ;-)

How's about a list of those who are back; is that a secret?

Maybe some people need to be prepared for a surprise. When I came across a post by Ctech complete with his old member status and post count; I thought for a moment that I had somehow landed in an old archived thread.

Not that I mind seeing him back.
