This is not for the geeks who know how to get around problems.
Did you do a clean install of Windows because of a virus or something else that screwed up your PC? Find you didn't have sound anymore? What about your network card or graphics? Did they still work or did it say the drivers weren't installed?
This is old (no longer supported) but it tells you the make and model of everything inside your PC without having to take the back off and it's free.
Tried and tested and has no spyware/malware/virus issues.
Due to a network card problem I have just lost my Hard drive last week with loud clicking sounds inside it.
how is that possible? first time i am hearing such a problem...

i use to be a computer modder, and i've taken apart my computer, its not that complicated once you get noticed of your own parts of your comuer.
you can eaisly fix it yourself if you learn then pay 300 bucks for a repairman.
I agree, it's not that hard if you know what you are doing but when you've had all the bits working until you do a clean install, why doesn't everything now work?
Drivers, that's why. Windows drivers suck, end of..
Anyone who has problem devices (Device Manager identifies these) needs to update or reinstall the device driver.
Check my opening post in this thread, it's a nice bit of freebie software that will tell you what devices you have onboard your computer. Then download the driver from the manufacturer's website or other driver websites and problem solved.
copy the drivers before you reformat your PC hard drive so yo uwill have drivers back up to reinstall after format done

LOL - I already said this thread isn't about what you SHOULD do. It's to help those who cannot do what they should do (system crash, won't boot, etc.) so unable to back anything up before a reinstall.
