Being a member of the GDCA is NO GUARANTEE that the exchanger is not a scam. Anyone can join the GDCA.
It is important to see HOW LONG the exchanger has been a member. Scammers don't last.
There is a problem with FORGED BADGES. Scammers may display a fake GDCA badge. You should check the badge by clicking it. If it's real you will be taken to the above site and learn about the membership. Be careful that you are taken to the right website. Scammers have been known to fake the entire GDCA site just to fool people into thinking they are members. Always check the URL in your browser address field.
I have learned that the GDCA will soon have a new website that will incorporate some advanced features.
The association exists to bust scammers. We don't want them polluting our economy with their crime.
There has been some friction and some criticism of the GDCA but one thing all members agree on is that we don't want thieves posing as exchangers.
Thanks Shane Personally I'll just take a site as NOT a gdca member if the plaque has suddenly appeared in last month and I can't see it in my saved gdca list
There is a thread a few weeks back that pinpoints when gdca was down

. Not to forget this part.
And a big THANK YOU to TD for her unending efforts to root out and stop scammers.
The people of TG owe you more than they might realize.
Thank you for the notification ... even if the exchanger is a member for a long time not means that all things will goes well ... we should search in forums about the exchangers and deal ONLY with exchangers who has heavily customers reviews.
Well its funny considering that the GDCA also dont update their records with any regularity, nor do they respond to emails.
If you take a look at their listings you will note quite a few companies that are no longer in businesand havent been for a while.
Also, I contacted them about a possible badge fraud about 2 months ago and they never even responded. Pretty poor service for the "premier" association.

Are the owners of those closed businesses still members?
Why do you feel you deserve their attention? Are you a member? Did you pay to file a complaint?
Perhaps they are ignoring you. Could they be justified in that?

I deserve attention considering I was a member and the badge fraud I was talking about relates to my old business which is STILL listed on GDCA even after 2 years (someone is trying to use the plaque). And after sending a few emails, received no response. Whilst I was a member, I received next to no contact/support and even trying to get my membership details from them (after having paid) was like pulling teeth.
Seems to me the GDCA is nothing but a marketing organisation for a few of the notable exchangers. I doubt they really provide much protection in the marketplace and as far as regulation goes its almost nil.
And pray tell...what is the point of leaving business listings in place that are at least 2 years old, that are no longer operating.
Seems to me, if the GDCA would like to be seen as a serious association that its office bearers and contact details would be public. As a member, I coudlnt even tell you who the president was at any given stage or any office bearers. Doesnt lend much legitimacy if you ask me.
You might have the best exchange service on the web Nanaimogold but your attitude leaves ALOT to be desired.
