Just wanted to say hello to all my old friends on the forum. Boy, have I missed you! I think of this place often, and do believe I can finally have some time to hang out.
Life's been busy, crazy busy. Last you saw of me a legit money manager lost funds. For some (including me), a lot of funds. Worse for me, they were retirement funds, which can't be written off the old tax form. That was a few years back.
Yes, my DH did not take it well.
Then things got crazy with my mother. My children and I spent 6 weeks back east. Things calmed a bit. Then got crazier. This winter the children and I drove cross-country and spent 4 months in the midwest. So much snow the 10 yo declared he was tired of it, and wanted to go back to sunny California. They were good troopers with every snow. Learned how to shovel really well! Even did the neighbors driveway, because they wanted to do something nice for them. (We've got great children.) We drove back just a day or two before a 15" in-one-day blizzard hit the area - highly unusual. Hasn't happened since I was in high school (and that's been a long while!).
I got a lot done while there. Built a big strong wall. Found tenants for the unit. Closed my mother's salon. Moved her into a rental booth situation (much better - now she can focus on hair, not on maintaining a building). Sold a lot. Fought with her scummy landlord. Discovered my redneck side, LOL. Hung out with my brothers and nephews.
And our son found a fabulous fossil the day before we left. Sea shells on a rock. In Kentucky. (That's 14 hours from, or no where near, an ocean, y'all. Rather points to a universal flood, don't cha think?).
All the while, I've been playing with investments. Testing, trying, looking for something that works. Found a few, too.
A few weeks back, I responded to a flyer about AdSurfDaily. I recognized it immediately for what it was, a classic ponzi scam we see all the time in TG. Then one of my dear friends sent me an email about it. (We worked together on creating corporations, and most of our bad prospects were people who need an int'l corp to receive their fund, only later to find out they were in a scam). I warned her upfront.
This weekend I found out it is underfire from several states and the US AG. NO KIDDING! As I posted in another forum today, it is one thing to fly under the table around here with a surf program. It is another to go "big time" and make it into an MLM. Then you come under the watchful eye of many government agencies.
Go figure.
I look forward to renewing many old friendships, and developing some new ones!
Pluggy! My friend! How happy I am you are still a mod. Bri's got to change your bi-line! Let's have him put in all caps "ITS A SCAM." LOL
How I miss your dry wit.
Can't wait to catch up, you look really happy and healthy!
ML
No, a mod no longer. The stress was getting to me and I resigned. The green denotes being a Teamearners member. Something I looked at out of curiosity. I'm just a plain old TG member now. I miss being able to dispense immediate justice to spammers, but not much else. The politics was getting a bit heavy and it was affecting my health. I got out and I intend to stay out. The wit still shines when I come across something that wets my appetite
