Just a question I was wondering about.. Why talkgold forum isn't a dofollow forum ? No dofollow signatures, no dofollow advertising.. why is that ?

I am not sure but i think it is about SEO(google pagerank ), i think brian might give you a better answer.

Some members join forums purely in the hope of placing links in posts, and/or, signatures.

One reason they do this is they think that Google will give their site some `benefit` for SEO purposes, and their PR will be helped by the backlink value.

TG strives to prevent spam, which is why we make links `nofollow.`

2 Main reasons:

#1 people will post nonsense and spam just to get their signature up. This already happens without dofollow, it would only be made worse with it.

#2, With 5 links per post and 10 posts per page thats 50 outbound links that will take PR away from our internal linking structure.
