There are a few things that can really leave you spinning your wheels when you are using blogs and forum marketing to make a few connections within the community. Below are 4 different and very common mistakes that you really need to avoid.
1. Jumping in feet first without any form of introductions
This is a huge pet peeve of those who frequent these forums... someone who just jumps into their community without even tell who they are. A word of warning here; don't do this!
2. Drama kings and/or queens
This isn't only annoying but distracting as well! While there is no way to avoid conflict and drama in life and business; keep it to a minimum in the forum marketing realms.
3. Non-participation or being too aggressive in offering help
Part of the reason that forum marketing is so popular is because of the help that the members give to each other. If you are either a silent lurker or one who is too aggressive in your offers to help; this will be looked down upon!
4. Making yourself look more important that you really are
This basically comes down to being way too aggressive or pushy in the art of self promotion. If you are very good at what you do, the quiet word of mouth advertising will get around without you having to do that much. If you talk about yourself too much, this can get you booted out of the community.
The main key when working within forum marketing communities is to be polite; this will take you very far!
