Default Difference between c-gold and liberty reserve

I am working with some people interested in using these alternate currencies and was wondering what people's opinions were as to the difference between c-gold and liberty reserve is. As far as I can tell c-gold is backed by gold and liberty reserve is not. Also, c-gold requires id documents and liberty reserve does not. Those seem to be the differences. The exchange prices seem about the same to get in and out. Any feedback would be great.

Liberty Reserve is well trusted & very popular, C-gold is rather new but seems legit. I've never tried C-gold but I've heard members having good experiences using their services.

Thanks for the response. Do you think c-gold having id requirements is a big disadvantage? Also, what is the most common way people fund these accounts? I know for these you have to use an exchanger, but do people mostly use wire, Moneygram, western union or something else? It seems like the in and out exchange for anything but wires is a killer. Any feedback would be great.

How would the exchanger know who you are if you had a friend or used a different name to send a moneygram or western union? Some exchangers take cash deposits so that could be anonymous as well. It seems a big difference to be required to identify yourself as opposed to the ability to remain anonymous, if your interested in privacy that is.

c-gold is a gold based currency, like e-gold and pecunix. I believe the gold bars is kept at a safe vault.
LR is mostly used USD based currency. And the money stay at bank (most probably). It will be tough if the bank is not run properly and suddenly collapse like some USA base banks. But hopefully not.

We don't use those here in Aus....Direct debit through your bank account(which has verified who you are by law) or Deposit via card at the post office which required a card be sent to your home...

That would be up to how the exchanger themselves operate. Maybe some of the exchangers themselves will come along and post on this. I guess there is some that deal with Mr/miss Anon on a regular basis.

There is privacy between the exchanger and customer. Personally up to now I'vr not been to concerned with any knowing my name.

When you go to the store and pay cash and nobody knows who you are then that is privacy.

Both of those methods are not very private so I guess privacy is not that big of a deal for you, which is fine. So then from your perspective the ID requirements on c-gold are not that big of a deal then?
