Windows 7 Official Thread

I created this thread regarding Windows 7, where we can discuss about this new Microsoft OS.
You can download Windows 7 Beta 1 free, from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/ and you can use it until July2009 (I august the RTM will be released).
I tried (and i'm trying) Windows 7 and I think that will be better then Windows Vista. This beta is stable, has a good compatibility with all applications (and drivers) and is really fast! And your experience with Windows 7? If you have problems with Windows 7 or if you want discuss about it, you can post here.

Apps are some what stable. I use quicken for my business and there are issues with it. I have noticed most of the apps work great but there a a few that seem to crash and then resume.

Over all seems like Vista with a bit of code clean up.

Yes, it's fast and minium requirments are 1Ghz CPU and 1GB RAM.

sometimes the beta crashes out when I hit StandBy key in my HP laptop...

I also prefer Debian Linux, my backup server is running under Debian 3.1

I also like Linux.
It's free.
But my friends still use windows.

I would say "Just say NO to vista and 7".... Why waste computer resources for something that takes away your abilities? If you must use Windoz, try to stick with XP as long as you can.

It's really an interesting point noticing that nearly most of the computer users from both personal and business folks types are still highly recommending the Windows XP operating software. Of course as I have heard gradually Vista will replace XP but it's nice that nearly no one is interested in shifting to other programs when they have already a fixed and feature rich operating software called XP that is great for entertainment, business applications and more.
