I was just curious about running a poker online site but without real money wager. What I'm thinking is running an online poker site that gives away free products from sponsorships ( Toyota, starbucks, gift items, Mcdonalds ect. ) Kinda like myfreespace.com but without meeting friends/hookups ect. This will be a straight up poker tournaments for free prizes instead of real wager money involve. I would allow sponsors to advertise on this poker site so winners of tournaments can received free prizes. Are there a legal sides of this ? Since there is no real money wager, are there federal and state laws in the U.S which prohibit such ideas / venture? Please if you have any knowledgements feel free to advise / feedback, thanks..
