What are the best interest rates that i would be able to get by putting my money in just a plain bank as opposed to putting it into a fund or something like it.

yearly of course This is Bulgaria and you can get 8% only on the longest term deposits (3 years)

In Latin America. But such interests are given for investment in local currencies. And some of these countries have high inflations

Australia has the best interest rates right now. I think it is closely to 8.25% . Australia also has a strong currency against the American dollar . If the dollar keeps going down , you will end up making more than 8.25% . That would be the safest place to put my money right now down under. KESICKELS
