Dear TGers,
I have been a quiet supporter of IT for the entire time it has been going through all the mess and changes, and continue to hope and pray that you here on this board are wrong.
Out of respect for you and your territory I have not come here to discuss my opinion about IT, and I am hoping that by posting this I do not turn this thread into an attack on myself, but can keep it focused on the problem I am bringing to you and the sincere begging for help and prayers. Please, I am not strong enough right now for a discussion about IT, so if you could please focus the dicussion in this thread on help and prayers for Warren, you will have my eternal gratitude.
The first part of this post is a letter which has already been posted several places on the net, the second part is an update on the situation.
I am at a point in my life where I am so desperate that I am asking anyone and everyone I know to help me, so I come to you.
I have been asking everyone I know to send this out if they have a list....if you don't want to I can certainly understand, and if you do, I thank you. No matter what, please keep praying for Warren.
If you want to verify with the hospital, he is at Hemet Valley Medical Center 4th floor, room 36B, phone number 951-652-2811.
(note: Warren was released from the hospital Saturday afternoon, but you can still call to verify he was a patient for a week, read the update below for more details).
HERE IS THE ORIGINAL LETTER:
My name is Laura Woolfolk, I am married to my husband Warren Sr., and we have 4 young children ages 7-13. Many of you know that Warren has been quite ill for several years now and I work form home so that I can care for him.
You are receiving this letter because I have asked everyone I know to send it out to their mailing lists in an attempt to save my husband's life and get our family to Colorado where the best doctors in Denver have agreed to treat him for free in order to save his life.
Warren is a wonderful father and devout Christian man who is raising our children to love and praise God, and be good, solid, productive citizens.
Warren has Chronic Nephrotic Syndrome (which is brought about by his diabetes), and as a result of the chronic liver disease he has developed non-achohol related Cirrhosis. His kidneys and heart are also affected by the diabetes, but not as acutely as his liver.
Warren is in the hospital at Hemet Valley Mediacl Center in Hemet, Ca, 4th floor, room 36B, phone number 951-652-2811. Currently his liver is almost completely in failure. His entire body is swollen and he is running a constant low grade fever. Sometimes he is slightly disoriented. He sleeps most of the day, although he does wake up a few hours at a time.
He is a candidate for a liver transplant and has every chance of recovery if he gets one relatively soon. If he does not he will most certainly die within a few months. That is the other reason Warren wants us back in Colorado.... should he not live, he wants the kids and I to be surrounded by family to love and support us.
The problem:
I have been working on the internet to support us so that I can stay at home and care for Warren. Unfortunately, as you well know, this is not always steady income and due to several recent losses we are currently being evicted from our home (well, not really evicted because the landlord has been to nice to serve us with papers but he has asked us to leave because he cannot afford to pay the mortgage without our rent, which we can't pay).
We have no family here and nowhere to go without funds. We do have a large family base in Colorado, and if we can get there we will have many places we can live while we recover financially until we can get on our feet again. Unfortunately, most of our family are working class poor and are not able to help us financially with cash for the move, although they are asking their churches to help.
Warren's father, pastor of the Agape Christian Church in Denver has already lined up a team of Christian doctors who have agreed to donate their time to cover any and all treatments not covered by Medicaid.
Since we will have family members to help care for Warren I can return to work instead of needing to be home to care for him. I have had a standing job offer there to work at Faith Realty and Property Management, so we will have income when we get there.
The time frame:
Originally our landlord had agreed to our leaving on the 16th of October, but his real estate agent says that it would be better if we could leave closer to the 30th of September so they have a chance to sell the house before winter starts to set in and the market slows down. Beacuse he has been so kind and tried to work with us, we really need to accommodate this nice man.
The speeded up time frame also means that Warren can get his Medicaid started and resume treatment and get on the donor list sooner in Colorado.
The need:
Even after getting rid of all non-essential household goods we need to be able to rent a truck for our furniture, *******, clothes and personal belongings. The cost of a U-Haul truck from Hemet, California to Denver, Colorado is $2755, the rental cost of a dolly to move the furniture is $50, and insurance is $84. Then we will need to pay for gas, and I have no idea how much the gas will cost the way prices have risen. We will not need money for hotel, we can drive straight thru or sleep at rest stops.
We also really need to pay for Warren himself to fly to Colorado as he will never be able to make the 2-3 day drive, and the cheapest fight I have found is $169. Maybe we can find someone with a buddy pass and we will not have to spend that money. UPDATE ON THE FLIGHT: WE HAVE BEEN TOLD ABOUT ANGLEFLIGHT AND WE QUALIFY FOR THIS SO WARREN'S FIGHT HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF, THANK THE LORD.
We know we will be able to raise about $100-$200 from our yard sale because we will be selling alot of our household items. We also have family members who are going to their chuches to ask for help, but we do not know if and how much will be raised.

UPDATE SINCE THIS LETTER WAS POSTED BY MANY FRIENDS ON THE NET:
A couple of things have happened since this was first posted:
First, although we QUALIFY for AngelFlight, they fly small Cessnas and it would have taken 3 flights totalling over 9 hours to get Warren from Los Angeles to Denver, so we could not use AngelFlight. Several people tried to work out donating miles, but that was not working. Thank God that a good friend stepped forward and paid in full for a ticket for Warren and our daughter Mariah. Mariah will be going to help her dad with any help he may need.
Also, the doctors gave an estimate of time left for Warren. They have said that he has at most 6 months, but given that his liver has little to no function left, and has not seemed to be improving, he probably has as few as 3 weeks.
They released him from the hospital Saturday evening, and he flies out on Monday. He will be met by his dad who will take him directly to see the transplant specialist. They are putting him on the transplant list, but are also tesing family members including our children as candidates for live donors in case his time becomes to short.
Unfortunatley, Warren is becoming quite agitated and uncooperative about this move. He is afraid that we will be stranded here in California. He is adament that we get home to Colorado so that we be around family to help us and support us in case the worst happens and he does die. Even now, lying in bed he is barking out orders to pack things in a certain way, to make sure we don't pack the tools so we can take apart the beds, and all the other deatils he usually takes care of. Quite frankly I am afraid we may need to sedate him to get on the plane because he is so worried about leaving us here to finish packing and drive home.
Mary is here to help with the packing. We also have taken the 2 oldest kids, Warren 13, and Whitney 12, out of school for this last week to help as well. Now that I am not back and forth to the hospital several times per day hopefully things will start to get done faster.
As to our fundraising:
First, I made a mistake in my math. The cost of the U-Haul is $2775, the dolly is $50, and the insurance is $84, for a total of $2909 not $3065. In addition to the cost of the U-Haul we have estimated $600 (darn hurricanes) for gas for the truck and the car combined. We cannot trail the car because it is needed for passenger space for the 5 remaining children (Mary's 2 and my other 3). It is against the law to have passengers in a trailed vehicle, so we have to drive both the van and the car. So the total we are trying to raise is $3509. AND WE ONLY HAVE 5 MORE DAYS!!
So far Lisa's site
http://www.treasurehuntmails.com/warren/ has raised slightly over $1000. Family and other donations that have come to me individually outside of Lisa's site have raised an additional $500.

Frankly, at this point I could care less about spam so I am posting full contact details here.
If at all possible Paypal is preferred because I have a PayPal debit card. Intgold or EMO is next best because I already have the EMO paper to print money orders. Because of the short time we have left, any other form of payment will require my getting help doing private exchanges, but if that is the only way you can help, please send it anyway and I will try to work something out.
I have also had peolple ask about Western Union, so if you wnat to do that, my name is Laura Woolfolk 3824 Florence Street Hemet, California 92545 and my phone is 951-766-2767.
Please, every little bit helps, and we have very little time left. If my husband does pass, it is essential that he die knowing his family is safe and surrounded by loved ones.
And even if you cannot donate, would you please keep my husband Warren and our family in your prayers. We have people from all around the world praying for him, please add your prayers to theirs in hopes that Warren gets through this and survives to sing to his grandchildren.
Thank you for your time.
