Re: Received Liberty Reserve Compliance email
I can't be sure, but I'll bet this is bull.
If I were you I would not respond.
Perhaps Patryn can use his connections to check this.
Anyone want to bet against me?

Re: Received Liberty Reserve Compliance email
You can't be sure? Sure you can, this is utter bullcrap, especially judging by the poor english the email is written in.
"If you do not verification - your account is blocked". Riiiight.
Plus, as soon as they don't request an email password, you're fine. The stuff they are asking for is what they need to try and reset your LR login. They also need to enter your email address and obtain the new data though. This might be a deed of someone that, somehow, already knows your email pass and is now only trying to get the rest they need, so do yourself a favor and change your email password. Also, do a thorough PC check for trojans and keyloggers. Actually, do the check first and after you've ensured you're not infected, change your email pass. Then give them the info that they want.
I mean, yeah, just in case you wanna mess with their heads a bit and provide them with the real info. I would. Just for shits and giggles, cause I'm well aware they can't do **** without access to my email as I keep my machine squeaky clean in terms of trojans and loggers.
The way you've presented the email does not display any links to deliver the data to them, so I'll bet there's an additional email address in the Reply-To field. Cause, obviously, the scammer cannot access "compliance@libertyreserve.com".
If there isn't one, then the scammer is just horrendously stupid and is probably making their babysteps at what they're trying to do.
Go ahead, block my LR account, wanna see how you're gonna do that (rofl)...

Re: Received Liberty Reserve Compliance email
Alternatively, you can just check the email headers - that will definitely wipe any suspicions immediately and give you a crystal clear idea of whether the email has been REALLY sent from LR.

Re: Received Liberty Reserve Compliance email
Click on reply, and check to see to which email address your response is being sent. Do not provide the information requested. They do not need to verify the security answer of someone breaking TOS "from time to time". If it makes you feel better, you may email compliance to request that this email be authenticated.

Re: Received Liberty Reserve Compliance email
Oh, that actually makes sense - trying to collect enough data to change the EMAIL ADDRESS itself so they can reset the login info more easily. Doubt it would work though.
Don't LR check the email headers? Since the scammer would obviously spoof the sender email address and not send it from the real email addy of the owner? Plus every support ticket is assigned a unique ID, and there is no way for the scammer to know that ID and include it in his request for an email addy change.
