German automaker Daimler announced it now has a 10% stake in Tesla Motors and the companies plan to increase the production of electric cars saying that the partnership will make electro mobility a reality.
Tesla Motors has been researching and developing emission free vehicules for years and soon they may become more popular.
The Tesla Roadster has been a hit despite limited production, but now a partnership with Daimler could help electric cars enter the mainstream and possibly take control of the auto market in the next few decades.
I see this as a waste of R & D. Not many consumers want an electric battery in their car. If we want that we would buy the little car toy that has a battery in it. Get into natural gas if these economies want to get away from big oil. NATURAL GAS > ELECTRIC.
