Do you get the cash as well as traffic or do you have to sell your credits and forfeit the traffic?

How can it be a way to earn if you can only get 25 cents for five hours work? I am missing something here, right? While you are earning is your own site getting traffic too in addition to the money you are earning? Just trying to figure this out, sorry if my question is hard to understand.
