Serial Number of the notebook - are we anonymous?

I was wondering if I buy a new notebook, the manufacturer will have my serial number's notebook linked to my name and recorded in its database? I wonder this because I wanna keep myself anonymous while surfing and doing e-commerce business for taxes reasons

IMO Serial number's of notebooks not stored at the WEB and not checked...

Does windows store anything when it installs for license and update purposes? How do they know that the software is still on the same licensed computer?

Many soft used some PC hardware's ID for Licensing things, that's doesn't mean nothing. In fact they must install something in your PC to call at your PC hardware, I think so.

Any way, relax we are still not in the Matrix, especially not in the "Tax matrix"

They are in hackers way now

in fact they are install "backdoor" called SLC - Software Licensing Client. SLC client is checked system on permanent basic.

It is not difficult to get all the serial numbers of a computer, provided you can ping it.... As for connecting serial number with your name, is a different story... If you buy a computer used or lets say from a warehouse like Costco, the chance is slim to none, unless you connect it with your name by yourself.

How can you block someone from pinging the machine and are pings a must have to run the system?

You missed the point. I am saying that if I can ping the machine, likely I can get serials, and MAC addresses as well. If I cannot ping, it still may be possible.... You do not have to have network connectivity to run a computer, but if you have network connectivity, than you are connected... By using firewalls, etc you can limit number of people who would be capable to get in, but someone may always be better than you...

Yep, I guess no matter what you do, it's impossible to be 100% protected.
