12dp thread or "war zone"?

I am sorry to say that the 12dp thread,a place where one sould supposedly come and assimilate as uncontamined information as possible in an uncontamined environment,the TG forum,about 12dp(like "I have/haven't been paid",'"I was/wasn't paid on time","I have/haven't recieved an activation e-mail","I think 12dp is a bonzi because.../I disagree because...") is turning into a "war zone".

If someone posts something negative about the program,that post is followed by a flood of posts containing personal attacks,just because the person with the negative opinion has had the "audacity" to post his negative opinion,an opinion different from that of the majority of users.

If someone posts a positive thought regarding 12dp,he/she gets called "cheerleader",and the personal attack scenario starts all over again.

Lately,a thread is being started regarding a subject x,the first couple of posts are related to the subject,before personal attacks and offensive language take over again,resulting in all threads ending in the same manner:accusations,finger pointing,etc.

There was another problem,when countless new threads appear regading issues that were already being discussed in other threads,a problem that was pretty much solved after some mods appeared and after the thread merging episode.

But the most important aspect remains "untreated":foul language and personal attacks.

IMO,if a person using such language/resorting to personal attacks should first be warned via PM,then officially warned,and,if their behavior persists,banned.

I am sure that,after a couple of banned members,the situation would calm down and this section could become one that people can read without feeling ill to their stomach.

I am totally against banning members for their opinions,no matter how radical,but banning members that cannot control their language,in other words banning people that don't express their opinions using at least decent language is a must.

We can lead civilised,productive debates only if the language is appropriate.

And isn't leading constructive debates,learning one from another why we are all here for?

I did read it. And just reread it, to make sure I didn't miss anything. It's all more-or-less true, but the mods have it all under control, hence my reply .

It is my reaction to the fact that this thread,due to improper language and attitude is starting to rather resemble a "war zone" section rather that a thread where civilised people freely discuss the programs that they are involved in.

I did say that the thread merging problem was solved,but that there is a far more important problem that is not solved at the moment(see my quote above).

I don't see what your problem is. A large proportion of what foul language there is is directed towards me, and I say it is all in hand; the mods have it under control.

I don't see much foul language directed towards you, so what's your problem? Why the new thread?

Exactly that is "my problem":foul language

It is not directed towards me,and I don't really care to whom it may be directed to,the problem is that it offends me.

When I read such posts,and there are more than a few,I am personally offended by the language,even if they are not directed to me,and as a consequence,I have started this thread.

This thread is meant for the members that resort to such language to read and to revise their attitude.

The mods should only be the last resort,taking the necessary measures in case this situation persists.
