Traders, is BOM gambling? It has to be or it wouldn't be in business is my thoughts, but predicting odds on all of the information that has to be crunched just dosn't seem right.

Yes, technically it is gambling. But if people want to do to try and make some money, they have a right to, and it doesn't hurt the market or anything. I have no problem with it, I just can't make money doing it. I tried it a few times but found it was too hard to try and predict. I bet when it was going up, and then all of sudden it crashed and I lost. People say you have to study several months to learn how to do it well.

Well....if you bet that a eur/usd will rise next hour (intraday bets) this ofcourse gambling...you may try to use technical analysis to predict the direction but still you are betting.you will lose whole price of the bet if you are wrong.
On the other hand,i believe that spread bets (xodds) is not gambling if you know how to trade forex.It's exactly same as trading on FXCM platform.You enter the bet with limit and stop orders.
