I just made my second deposit. Program looks good.
What was the term of your first loan? Mine was 120-days.

Welcome back jlp. Heartening to note that your trip has only served to increase your confidence in EBL. Thank you for the post.
Could you share some of your insights about CJ ? Does he do the actual trading/money making or is he the manager ? I am curious, especially so, since you have only positive things to say about EBL
Lavanya
Hi Lavanya,
I believe we should focus on the DD that has been done and not speculate with details that could jeopardize the loan program. CJ did not disclose anything to me or jlpicard that would harm his business and I respect him for that. The fact that he did not disclose his “money making” methods gives me a very high confidence that he will keep my deposits safe. Anything I would say (or anyone else for that matter) is speculation and hearsay so why even go there.
I choose to focus on the investigation done by NoBSnetwork, PayPal, Pensco Trust AND the fact that you have a signed lender agreement (loan contract) and a 1099-INT coming as the best DD on any loan program EVER.

How is your mother-in-law doing? bet you're glad to have your wife home! JLP, I’m “cleaning” on this!

Hi Michelle,
Well the “dirt” is we all had a BLAST. Unfortunately, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas so you will just have to come along for the next LV trip to get your own “dirt” or should I say get your own hands dirty. I will say that we stayed at the Stratosphere and CJ did the amusement rides at the top of a 800+ foot tower that jlpicard and I were not willing to do (JLP said he would do it if he had not just ate, right). I have vertigo so just watching CJ on the rides on top of the tower was a thrill ride for me.
I consider Jlpicard (Michael) my brother.
I’m very impressed with his patients, integrity and desire to dig into issues or do the DD to get to the truth and/or solution with a can-do attitude. I wish we were SW Engineers together so we could have been on one of the few DREAM team projects I did in my career.
Here is a email I did and thought it would be appropriate to post here at TG to sum up my LV trip and thoughts about EBL.

YES. My trip to Las Vegas to meet and have some fun with EBL owner Craig Jolly (CJ) raised my confidence and respect for him as a regular guy who has a "gift" and business model built through hard knocks. IMO, he does not need to put his personal life at risk to help people like me who want a passive income (I'm a lazy bum compared to him). He does not need the money to get what he wants out of life. As I say at WDW ,"Why Do Work when you can make money passively". Well CJ is willing to do the work and I appreciate him for that. CJ and I have a passion too. To help others in need. The beauty of it is we wish to "help" in different ways so in the long run more people are helped.
I do not have a crystal ball so how long EBL will live (IMHHO) depends on the "quality" of the people we get to join. I'm trying to attract serious long-term money (Self Directed ROTH IRA, LLC). If too many members join and do not maintain a "decent" principle balance (i.e. $1001.00 or more), the harder it is for CJ to make returns. He really wants to help out the little guys and gals with the smaller loan amounts and terms (30 day terms) in hope to help them build a better financial base. I really respect him for that. IMO, if he can help 1 out of 10 build a better financial base, he is getting 9 headaches to help 1 person. I do not know if I would be willing to put up with those "headaches"?
The bottom line for me is that I know I will get all my money back no matter what happens to EBL as a business. I also look at the principle of my loans as equity in a home that I rented out where I do not have to deal with the 3 T's (Tenants, Taxes and Toilets)...

Hey! You calling me a chicken?... O.k., next time we're in Vegas, I'll prove it to you.

Thank bro. BTW, I did read that post in the EBL forum and my sentiment is exactly the same. I created a separate account for my SD-IRA today and will be funding it this week.

-BrianZ.
It all sounds very good, encouraging. After some paperwork issues I'll speak to you guys more and hopefully get my feet wet.
Meanwhile baby bro, I'd be happy to get my hands dirty in Vegas with you guys, but this prima donna won't stay at the Strat!
They gotta nice golf course there... I'm in! (they need a golfing smiley...)

It's good to read that you and EPD had some worthwhile conversations with CJ. It is also particularly good to learn that you have returned with your confidence in EBL not only intact, but strengthened. This is the outcome I was hoping for. I believe I need to re-assess my long-range plans as well. Thanks to both of you for making the trip and for sharing your impressions with the rest of us.
Wynn isn't the best, though the rooms are gorgeous, and if you want golf courses go to Summerlyn, JLP - either GreenValleyRanch or that beautiful pga world tour course (TPC Canyons) with a really cool hotel/casino right near. The round of golf runs $450/pp and it was a 5 day trip I won around 3 years ago. Included 5 days of lessons for 2 with a PGA pro and 5 days green fees/cart/etc. Don't remember the name of the hotel - adjacent to TPC, but right near RedRock and my husband's boss was totally green with envy. We don't golf, but got an overview, and really enjoyed it. Learned enough to know it wasn't our cup of tea and did some mean golf-cart driving over the most beautiful course I'd ever seen with a constant view of Red Rock Canyon.
Venetian has a lot going for it, and Mandalay Bay a gorgeous beach pool - all are close enough to each other not to matter. For old time funky, get the Ceasars tower suite with the sunken tub in the room. Or you can stay at the Golden Nugget, downtown - its been recently redone and is a bargain. Wynn however has the casino assaulting you in the face, right in the middle whenever you go in and out or around. They have a decent buffet though. I like to gamble, but I like to be able to walk away from it too. If you want economy, go for Ballys or Casuarina, right in the middle of all the action, quick walking anywhere, but reasonable - but go Sun-Thurs and you get good deals everywhere.
I don't know a lot, but I know Vegas
(It was the JW Marriot Las Vegas Resort at Summerlin - hubby just looked it up!)

That's some serious coin... My current income doesn't currently support this kind of lifestyle... YET.... Guess I'll have to figure out a way to get 6 figures into EBL eh?
