Re: Vanuatu car registration?
On the language, it was a gesture to help you out as English is obviously not your first language.
I advise that all your docs should be original and genuine. You may get away with border controls etc. but when you have a shunt you will be penalised for any dodgy doc, and I warn you again, usually your insurance will immediately be invalid.
I have never used temporary registration, always registered car in country of my choice.
You said earlier that you would eliminate the VIN, but you now say that it will be checked. Too right it will, if ever there is any suspicion, some police automatically check VIN under the screen against the registraion docs at the roadside.
Pink card - you said you read all this thread ? - is the colour of frontier insurance valid for country of issue only.
I think your man in the police will verify what I have written about using genuine docs etc.
EU transport legislation does not usually affect vehicle registration, its for more wider issues. EU countries still all have their own traffic laws. For example, they stopped issue of insurance in Austria but I could then insure via the Netherlands. In UK insurers cannot insure foreign plates for third party, it is illegal in the UK. On the continent some countries allow it. But this reflects the little islander mentality of the British government.
Take care
