Gold as legal tender in Utah - hit or miss?

So, as of June 1st, Utah became the first political jurisdiction in the world which uses gold and/or silver as legal tender. I was wondering what you think about this move/its meaning and long term impact? Are more states likely to follow? What does it mean for US dollar?
