The Mauritius banks now all need a bank reference letter as the central bank passed a rule requiring the banks to obtain one. So the web site is correct as we update it regularly, it is harder to update this page on Talkgold.

Mauritius banks have also become very slow this year to open accounts unlike before due to these changes. Basically sooner or later they will stop taking remote accounts all together as most offshore banks will by 2013 or 2014.

The privacy offer in New Zealand is nothing like that of the Seychelles or Belize which has private ownership -- it is more similar to a UK or Hong Kong company with a few exceptions.

The director, who must be a phyiscal person, is public record in New Zealand, as are the shareholder, however the shareholders can be legal entities/corporations from any country.

New Zealand now requires the directors and shareholders in most cases to meet compliance requirements of providing an English translated and English certified passport and English translated and English certified proof of address -- if the document is not originally in English. You cannot use a local notary for this service unless they provide certificate in the English...or Maori language for New Zealand.

For those who reside in non-English speaking countries this can be a real hassle as I know myself.
