Gudasmum

A race with runners that’s finished well mixed with poor runs. Gudasmum looks like the one without any pull ups or unseating riders in the last six. G’s run at this track just over a week ago was a decent 2nd place effort. G was beaten by someone who’s had success in the Irish circuit. This wont be difficult after having that run. Trainer, JP Elliot looks like it’s had plenty of time getting this ready for today. JP only had one runner after G’s run on the 5th of this month. I don’t like anyone else here, they all have been pulled-up or unseated their rider in recent races.


Luande

Improved in every run last year, finishing 7th, 5th, then 2nd. I like Luande to win this. The race here in December 7th looked to have a chance at winning until it weakened when hampered 2 out. It led to the 6th and may have won if was able to run the whole in a healthy manner. Very capable to win at this track today. The rest of the field looks inconsistent but Jolejoker appears to be the main threat.


Pace Shot

Have been running very well in the last 4 races – winning two of them to go along with a 2nd and 3rd in the hurdling department. The flat performance is very similar but is yet to win. This is the day end it’s maiden tag by beating a good looking field. The best finishes from the flat runs are 5th, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, a 2nd at Lingfield back in August 2005 and the last try was a disappointing 16th out of 19. This one is going to be very close with Dubai Ace, River Gypsy and Ganymede behind. This is really going to be a speed test and should still be in front when it’s all over. Speaking of top speed, Pace Shot is rated with the top speed according to the Racing post with a 70 and the 2nd is rated at 56 with 3rd at 48.
