I am in Montreal now. It is a 4-star hotel in downtown. I suspect those who rated it had somewhat bloory vision, but with exeption of the lousy internet connection, it is not that bad. And Montreal is a great city

I believe GSH is from Ontario... no exchange rate between the two provinces. Unfortunately, I currently have a large quantity of USD and require CAD. Horrible exchange rate for me

Hit or miss, hence my suggestion of those specific hotels. I should be in Montreal within the hour, perhaps your Timmy Ho's scenario will come true ;p

hmmm.... I am already few minutes from Quebec City. This time it is 3-star, but looks better than the 4-star one. We may stop in Montreal on the way back in a couple of days...

I don`t understand, why the need for exchanges. Surely all places in Canada use the Canadian dollar?

There are roughly 3454545454433 coffee shops in downtown Montreal. There is a Starbucks a few feet down Ste Catherine, and a Timmy one block up Guy from that Second Cup. I had little reason to attempt to track you down in this manner. Were I available for a meeting, I would send you a PM.

Perhaps, but not all of them serve 24 hrs, have a terrace, provide nice view and of passersby and actually within a few minutes from hotel.... How did you come up with this number anyway?

Starbucks is closed at night and probably is more about $$ than coffee.... I could never get their popularity... TH is not far away, but does not provide such a good downtown view.

Yeah I would say bone up on the French a bit and grab a travel guide. Hostelworld.com usually has some good tidbits of different cities.
