Yeah, you just need enough that you can live a comfortable life being able to do whatever you like. Personally, I think $1 million would set me up, $2 million would do for myself and my partner.
Its a goal to work towards

Wealthy People, especially Billionaires would make the same or better investments than the bank themselves can do. So why should they EVER need a Bank?

Re: Anyone here is a close friend or a relative of a billionair?
truth be told you can be "set for life" for as little as 25k usd. This one investment I know about, would pay you 2k PER DAY with that tiny amount.
And it's a BANK!!!!!!!!

By studying the History of Macroeconomics, you learn that such a ridiculous rate is possible. Brand new countries' governments sell bonds with amazing rates of return to heavily encourage investors to buy up a storm. However, such bonds are a rather risky investment. If the government crashes (which is much more likely with a new country as opposed to stronger foundation, such as the U.S.), they are unable to repay the debt and your bonds are worth less than the dirt on the bottom of your shoes.

A billionaire is like a bank by themselve already. So they wouldn't bother to put their money in bank.
