no
here is the last email from gcard
Hello,
We received a notification by our bank North York Community Credit Union
("NYCCU") that MasterCard shutted off all ATM and POS traffic.
Due to this, as of now no new card activations and no new loads will be permitted.
We will be working over the next few days with NYCCU to assist in the return of all funds directly to the Cardholders.
Please note that NYCCU (not gCard) will refund the remaining balance to all cardholders directly.
ALL PENDING WIRES NOT LOADED INTO THE CARD WILL BE SENT BACK TO THE SENDER
(REMITTER) IMMEDIATELY.
ALL FUTURE INCOMING BANK TRANSFERS WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY RETURNED TO THE REMITTER.
We are in the process of launching a new card which is scheduled to be available in February, 2007. At this time we will replace your current gCard by a new one.
Unfortunately we are currently experiencing a D-Dos attack which unable access to our website
www.mygcard.com .
We expect to have our site up and running within 48H. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Sincerely,
gCard
this means that soon (next week) a proposition will be made by the bank to pay all cardholders, we don't know yet how (check or wire).
it is important to know that all the funds are managed by the bank (nyccu) and not the merchants (gcard, bgc ...), so there is no risk to loose any money.
