Other problem is using alike names. I saw attempts to register and use rather like names - for example it was "StockSeler". And I (and other members) can`t ask mods to put under a ban such persons UNTIL they scammed anyone!
Not quite, if a member is a well known exchanger and someone signs up using a very similar name I`m quite happy to stop the new person continuing on with his new name.
I can think of several occasions where this has been done. The onus is on existing members to let us know if they see it happening.

I know that it is impossible to block proxys only from one part of the forum.
But i still think that proxys or tunnels should not be allowed to use this exchange folder.
If there would be a mod or admin who could check here in this thread from time to time to see if they are ppl using proxy and tunnel.
They should not be allowed here in this folder.
I don't know if it is a good idea to pay to use the exchange folder.
I think TG wants that all members are equal.
Even if somebody pay, there is no garantuee.
Also i don't mind if there are less members using this exchange folder if there will be new rules or if we have to pay.
Better less people with good exchange services, then a lot of ppl that can scam you.
Make minimum requirements to sell/exchange money.....
for example....if you want to sell or exchange more than lets say 500 dollars....you need to have at least 10 feedback......or some sort of limiting.....because then there you're giving people an incentive to play it fair and to build up their rep that way......
i think some sort of limit should be placed based on the amount of feedback the person has.....just like how on ebay, ppl with feedback of like under 5 or something, cannot bid on certain items...
A lock only keeps an honest person out.A scammer will always find an easy way out.It sucks,but it's true.
I personally do belive that deciated, profi scammers are next-to-impossible to eliminate or avoid. However, many of the above suggestions in this thread can help to protect traders from amateur scammers - you may not belive it, but some wannabe scammers are so dumb they use same or similar ID (and email!) on multiple forums! I was contacted by a guy who told me he's safe and has good reputation on GoldenTalk - guess what? Simple check showed that he is permanently banned here on TG.

The Mod has access to a certain amount of TG member information. They can or could get more info from members with expectations of confidentiality and honesty, due to their position.

A $10 fee would go to the cost of verifiying new members.
The Verification process could be similar to PP where a letter can be sent to a home address with a code on it, the code then must be returned to TG before membership is granted this process may also include telephone confirmation to a land line.
